Trial assembly. No more building - covering next!!

Also, the tightest servo fit I have ever seen. Had to take the stickers off them so they would go in the holes!

You could have filed/sanded the wood slightly to open up the hole.

They're all good.

I'd forgotten that I had the extras pack that was released when the kit first came out (radiators and later-model exhaust stubs), so made these up this morning.

Once I decide on a colour scheme, I can figure out which parts I want to use!

The postman arrived this morning with a box about 4ft long on his shoulder.  I knew what it was.

When I saw this on eBay, I felt that I just had to get it.  It needs a little work, but the airframe itself is sound and all the electrics work.

It doesn't look like I've done much to it, but there has been some progress!

New exhaust pipes - these came from the kit that I have, and they definitely give the model a bit more character.  I replaced the rudder pushrod, as the one that was fitted before wasn't great and had a bit too much flex in it.  The motor was also spinning the wrong way, but this wasn't helped by the fact that I couldn't get the bolts out of the firewall to pull the motor so that I could change the wires around!  I've ended up having to do minor surgery under the nose so I could get into the wires and swap them over - there's a scar, but it's minimal (thankfully!).

A couple of little things still to do, and that should hopefully be it!

Had a successful first flight with the Spitfire today!

She flew really nicely - rather floaty, but easy enough to fly.  She was a little tail-heavy, but I put that down to me using the lighter 1800mAh battery instead of the 2200.  The landing was a bit bumpy, as she didn't want to come down, either!

But yeah, a definite success.

Annoyingly, the video is silent, but here's the proof....!
