C3Po4
Hello, I am brand new to the forum and have no real interest in model aeroplanes, however, my dad was an enthusiast. I am sorting through his house and have come across some model aeroplane kits (amongst them is a Flair se5a unused and a Jumper 25) and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could sell them? Any help would be gratefully received.
Geoff S
The BMFA site has a good selling section but I guess you don't want to join the association if you have no personal interest in models. There's a dedicated model aircraft selling site on Facebook but I've never used it. I have used eBay and that works OK - there is a dedicated model aeroplane section and it might be worth having a look at that. The Fair kits are no longer available and they're popular, especially unstarted examples. I noticed that there's a boxed OS52 FS (I think). I suspect your Dad got it to fit in the SE5a (I fitted one in mine many years ago).
Paul De Tourtoulon
Shame that you are in the UK, I would love to build another Se5a and with the 52.😇
RottenRow
Since the beginning of October, selling on ebay has been free to private sellers. As long as you are prepared to pack and post items then ebay would be a good option. You can put a reasonable starting price for each item and each will then get bid up to the highest somebody is prepared to pay for it. Alternatively, you could take a table at a swap meet if there is one local to you, where you can sell face-to-face, but you might not get as much as you would with the larger audience on ebay, especially if you have no idea of the value of the items. Upcoming events (including swap meets) are listed here: https://events.bmfa.uk/ Brian.
kc
You culd put an item in this forum's for sale section. Put a reasonable price on the SE 5 kit and I am sure a sale will result. Flair kits are unobtainable new so fetch a good price. You need to state the town or area where they can be seen. Also state the condition. Frankly, selling items direct to an enthusiast is more satisfying than selling to a dealer.
kevin b
Check the items against ebay's completed / sold filter and you might get a good idea from there. Particularly the SE5a. It is a very sought after kit.
