David Ashby
I'm sorry to report that Peter passed away in hospital on Sunday. He was 87. Ironically I was only chatting to him last week, I gave him a call to see if he'd kept a record of the designs he'd had published and he said it was just shy of 200, the first being in 1974. He'd written for just about every UK model flying publication, several in the USA too, not forgetting his books too. Aside from his prodigious output, I always found him very easy to chat to and work with, a super gentleman. He'll be much missed. Huge number of published designs and personal advice on this forum to builders of those designs. J D 8 - Moderator
Sad loss indeed. I just loved his tongue in cheek story that went along with his Tequila sunrise racing plane plan, a story of bootlegging in 20/30's USA.
Nigel Dell
Very sad loss, I have admired Peters designs but never got around to building one, recently I have stripped and refurbed a nice little Saito FS 50 and it’s so sweet I thought I would build something for it and Peter’s RWD-5 fits the bill, recently took delivery of the plans to start after the 110 on the bench next, it seems it’s going to be my homage to Peter as well. My condolences to his friends and family.
