Tim Hooper
They're beautifully designed and engineered kits. I've built the little Corsair for rubber power, but have only got as far as test flying it. On the other hand, I have the little 18" Jodel D18, equipped with the Microaces 1S brushless power train and 4 channel control. Flies well - albeit a bit fast. David perry 1
The 22” Lysander looks a good conversion candidate for micro rc. A pretty thing anyway.

Tim Do you think the Corsair would make a good conversion to micro RC ? Hopefully it would be a bit more of a slower model ?
Andy Stephenson
This is my VMC Redwing with 4 function micro R/C gear culled from a Parkzone Sukhoi, covered in tissue over Mylar. It has flown numerous times indoors as well as outdoors. The kits do seem expensive but they are a pleasure to build.

Slower than what? Probably better off with converting a high wing cabin model as a start..... Andy S's umx stuff, with an all-in-one esc/rx/2linear servo block plus 2 remote linear servos is probably the lightest electronic package, keeping wing loading and speed down.
Rich Griff
GG, have you considered the toprc small radio stuff, Rx, aileron servo, gearbox, motor, prop and battery etc.. Even tx is inexpensive but basic ( cheap ). Not wieghted the set up yet as only this last week got all the components *in my stock* due to out of stock and shadow stock deliveries with the importer, who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons. I have a cheapo Tesco electronic scales so may weigh the set up this evening after knocking up a test bed to make sure everything works... Micro aces stuff is also good... Stuff on Ali express is bound to be cheaper, so I may as well do what the loyal UK model shop customers do... As a note, the latest sf260 and At6 toprc models Rx has 5 white plastic sockets, motor, aileron, sbus, DSM, and an as yet unknown function socket, 2 pin, marked -S... When I enquired late Nov early Dec last year, they had not up dated the sales pictures, nor had they by Friday of this week. Slec top up order going in before electric/water bill arrives. Only £193 increase in water bill. Thanks Welsh water ! Ps, did you see the latest vmc email, Lancaster's and other stuff... Rich Griff
Yeh, the automatic speeding fine revenues from "none natives" is/has grown. Soon be Easter, record breaking car parking revenue expected as well. 🏴

Think this should be aimed at Bigeard..... The rx in my Goosky S1 heli has similar sockets. I THINK the last one is for a bluetooth model, used to adjust gyro parameters etc...... A friend of mine did that one, and it flies superb. I've got an 18ins Spitfire that I'm considering converting to RC.

Andy Stephenson
Bigeard, Mylar is a polyester film made from stretched polyethylene terephthalate (PET), pop bottle material. It comes in sheet form on the roll from Mike Woodhouse in thicknesses from 1micron up to 12.5micron. It's a clear film that also can be silvered. It heatshrinks like iron films but has no adhesive and it can be attached to an airframe with Covergrip. I have used the 2micron which is very flimsy, the 5 micron is easier to use. When applied under tissue so little dope is needed, it comes in lighter than tissue alone with the additional advantages that it's completely air-proof and puncture resistant.
