GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Hi everyone. Looking for some advice on receivers which will work with a FS-i6X transmitter. The receiver needs to be the same size as this broken receiver in the picture to fit into my model glider (Protech Topic 400 RC Motor Glider Cobolt) which has a very small fuselage diameter. In future I would like the receiver to work with a FrSky TaranisX9D Plus transmitter running EdgeTX version 2.10.6 when I can get my head around the programming required. Any help would be appreciated. Gary
Jonathan M
https://www.t9hobbysport.com/products?c=/receivers They're very helpful with technical advice on the phone. For FrSky Rx's find out first what your Tx is using - original ACCST or ACCESS. For Archer Rx's I don't think it matters, but check with T9
Richard Wills 2
The FS-i6X is a Flysky transmitter, so you need a Flysky receiver. It will not work with an Frsky receiver.
GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Oh, didn't realise that they companies.
GrumpyGnome
Your transmitter needs an AFHDS receiver. If you Google it, you'll find a number - some made by FlySky, some by others. If you upgrade to an FrSky transmitter, you'll need a MultiProtocolModule to be able to continue to use any receivers other than FrSky. Other transmitters can run Edge, and have built in MPMs - e.g. Radiomaster TX16...
Dale Bradly
Here's a few suggestions. Perhaps the FS-IA6 (10 o'clock position) Edited April 3 by Dale Bradly
GrumpyGnome
That looks significantly bigger than the OP needs to fit in the fuselage......
PatMc
Gary, take it this is the model recently bought on Ebay ? I'm also going to refer to questions from your other thread. If so I have a couple of similar (I think earlier version) fuselages that came from a deceased clubmates estate. Both fuselages were quite battered but I managed to tart them up a bit & reinforce with some plywood. I didn't find the fuselage particularly slim & installed the esc & a Frsky Rx on fus floor but made a ply platform over them on which I mounted a 3s 2200 lipo The existing brushed motors were dumped in favour of brushless ones & prop blades upgraded to match. If you want more detail I can post some pics I have of the conversion stages.
GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Thanks PatMc. Yes I got the model off e bay as you say. I would be interested in receiving some pictures if that's OK thanks? I am a newbie regarding electric flight. I used to do nothing but slope soar but advancing years have turned me to flat field flying as my legs do not cope with hills to well. To be honest I am finding it difficult to understand the different types of electric motors and associated battery selections. Any advice would be most welcome from anyone. GARY BLANDFORD-HULL
Hi PeteMc. Can you let me know what motor and prop you used on updating your Protech Topic 400 RC Motor Glider Cobolt, please? Many thanks.
