The International Model Air Show which takes place annually at Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border has moved its show dates to September 3rd, 4th and 5th 2021. The organisers, Wrekin Model Flying Club, will host a camping and fly-in event on the weekend of the 18th, 19th and 20th June in addition to the main event in September.
Jennifer Astbury, Head of Estate Operations at Weston Park said “We are very encouraged by the roadmap out of lockdown outlined by the Government and have held discussions with the organisers of the Model Air Show to discuss what is best for the show and it’s visitors this year. After consulting with the Wrekin Model Flying Club, together, we have decided that the best outcome for everyone is to move the dates for the International Model Air Show, so you can plan on coming along safe in the knowledge that the show will be going ahead."
Organiser Steve Bishop from the Wrekin Model Flying Club said “We are delighted to be hosting two events at Weston Park this year. The Weston Park Camp & Fly weekend will take place on 18th, 19th and 20th June and is a camping event only where will operate to a limited capacity in-line with the roadmap. We will then celebrate our 25th Anniversary on the 3rd, 4th and 5th September where we hope to welcome thousands back to the International Model Air Show that you have been looking forward to.”
Weston Park Camp & Fly Weekend will take place on 18th, 19th and 20th June and is accessed with a camping ticket only. The event will feature a fly-in from top display model pilots from UK and Europe , food stalls, craft trade stands and live entertainment. Heli Fun fly and night show. To welcome everyone safely the camping event will operate to a set capacity. Book early so not to be disappointed .
The International Model Air Show will take place on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September with a full show line-up of international pilots, model and full-sized aircraft displays, off road and circuit car racing, model boats and helicopters. As well as all the displays taking place there will be a whole host of stalls to see, trade stands, craft fair and plenty of food and drink stalls. The icing on the cake of 25th anniversary celebrations will see the return of the Night Fire festival on Saturday evening.
