  1. Well it's the end of another hard day's balsa bashing etc. Good progress and some innovative problem solving me thinks.  Made up the cowl using a sandwich of cross grain soft balso but with a 2mm ply core to gice extra strength when cutting out the centre on the band saw.  Also dispensing with the plant pot in favour of a 2mm ply surround and will make the whole thing removable so allowing access to the hatches in case motor needs some attention.  Cylinders will be made from hardwood dowel.
  2. Hi TerryYes wing completed just need to fit retracts and tidy up wiring for nav lights. Tail feathers almost done. Have finished all the access hatches and canopy planking. Just about to start the roof work.Have been mulling over the colour scheme while sanding this afternoon. (dust everywhere had to have another shower tonight as not allowed in house. Anyway colours, White fuselage halfway upto canopy line. Black upper fuse yellow roof.black fin yellow rudder, black topside of tail, white wings top and bottom and black nose. Happy Building Iain
  3. Hi TonyJust found your original thread. I bought one of these kits earlier last year. I use the same motor a 60 A ESC and a 14x7 prpo tried a 16x7 but it was cooking the esc a little. 700 W with a 14X7 is plenty powerful for me. I put the batts in a box behind the firewall to ease the CG issue. One thing to be aware of is that the flaps use two servos. This I found is not always fool proof. Before Christmas I trashed the plane when deploying the flaps on landing approach only one activated due to a damaged servo gear. Not a pretty sight , a roll on approach to the strip. All is now repaired and awaiting a fine day (some hope in Scotland) for a test flight. Happy flying
  4. I mounted the motor so it can be removed if required. there will be access both above and below rearward between new firewall and F2 see my other pics on this in my album.
  5. Just to throw in another idea into the pot my build includes a set of Nav lights. JR has seen it !!!
  6. DavidI have just drilled out the 15-25 size units to take 4.0 mm legs seems to be ok. To drill out more than 0.5mm would be to risky in my opinion
  7. Not so in my recent experience. But the there's always an exception to to prove the rule!!!!!!!!
  8. What experience have members had when items from GC do not work or appear faulty? How do they rate customer service/turnaround on replacements or refunds?
