Recognise the Cambria Pioneer in the 6th picture, Stu - I'm just finishing one off! Hope to maiden it this month.

Say hi to fellow forumite Bob Gadd from me when you're next there. You're in good hands there, they're a terrific bunch!
-
Stick my nom de plume in the plumed hat, if you please!

Ahhh...but is it a B29 or a B50?

Always interesting, and often educational!

Yup, it's definitely an MDS 40. I have one, in it's hard polystyrene box, in front of me as I write. It has the digits 08.92.1503 cast or stamped into the edge of the mounting flange opposite the exhaust.
P.M. me for a scan of the instruction leaflet. -
Some pictures from the 2012 event here

Don't forget to put some contrasting trim on your model, Tom- it's very easy (especially with grey skies) to lose orientation on an all-white model. My late brother-in-law landed a glider on the roof of a bakery because he didn't know which way it was going!

It's not the waiting for parts, Tom - the longest wait is always for suitable weather for a maiden flight!
Be patient, it will all come together!

Certainly looks very similar, Michael. Why not P.M. Jeff2Wings to ask whether the Super Tiger has the plastic upper deck?

Hi Michael, The Wik Tiger plans are available as a free download from HERE

Thanks, BEB, that's the most sensible explanation of H&S I've seen anywhere!
-
What does look wrong in the Zero article is the caption to the top photo in page 95.... Tut tut, Mr. Whittaker, the model 32 didn't start service deliveries until April 1942....pedantic or what?
-
Hi BEB, I deal with HK's U.K. warehouse, which isn't too far from King's Lynn, and they can deliver goods North of the Tay at no extra cost, and in a reasonable time (two days is normal) - and they are a pretty hard-nosed business!
I just prefer not to deal with a company that treats us like foreigners - although we may be in a few years!
-
Why give a company which treats residents of Scotland's third city like second-class citizens a second chance?
-
It's actually CDO - with all the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be!

Yup - only one at the field, which is just starting to dry out. Had two flights with Sharkface, and maidened my replacement HK Predator UAV (it was a bit windy for that one!). Broke the prop on Sharky on the second landing, realised I didn't have my spares box with me, so headed home!

Hi John, The reason for the upward launch is described in an earlier post on this thread - the model is fitted with a powerful little motor (about 3-4 times as powerful as the original .049) and is very "twitchy" - therefore it needs to be got as far from the ground as possible as quickly as possible!
Once in the air, the pattern tends to be fast climbs to height followed by glides - twenty minute flights are possible from a 1300mAH LiPo.
It may also be evident from the photos that I'm left-handed - maybe an advantage in this situation!

Thanks mate, site bookmarked!

What about something like these, Bob?
Kyosho 90 Spitfire retracts
in Warbird kits

Hi Gineral, You may have to take the retract out, I'm afraid - the leg tends to be retained by grubscrews through the pivot position, which will be hidden inside the model at present!
