I think there is a more fundamental problem TBH, too many manuals written in "Chinglish" you know the sort of thing "It are raining here also" etc.
That sounds more Black Country than Chinese

Dave if you did not buy one of the two from amazon your mad. Probably the last chance you will get for a xt60 **LINK**

"the stick wasn't simply a walking stick, but a sword stick" and therein lies the problem. An offensive weapon, illegally carried in a public place. Self Defence/Reasonable Force is a defence available to all but requires the observance of some parameters, such as not using and illegal weapon and not using excessive force when the felon is fleeing (Tony Martin scoring double top in that respect)

was the sword illegal? Mr Osborn-Brooks was not in a public place. If he felt he was in danger of being stabbed by the intruder with a screwdriver it could be argued that stabbing the intruder first is reasonable force that is proportionate to the threat and an act of self defence. Well the authorities will have to make that decision

Many thanks for all the replies. Lots of food for thought there. There is an argument that even with LiFe batteries I should be using a regulator. Maybe Peter is right and I should go with the old adage"if it an't broke dint fix it"
-
**LINK** Another alternative? Not tried this one though
-
I have not had any problems so far with the servos running direct from the LiFe battery. I was just worried about them running low
-
I would be rreluctant to use that on a 40 size trainer

You could experiment (on the ground!) with a low voltage alarm set at 3.3v. With decent batteries you may get a lot of time to land before the voltage drops to 3v and then falls off the cliff. I may try this myself.....
I don't have any telemetry. I think I will try a lipo. It will get rid of the doubt I experience after I have been at the field all day and start to clock up a good number of flights

A possible alternative ? **LINK**
I have owned both the xt60 and eacapade 61. I would say the escapade was a little less floaty than the pulse. I did like them both

Looks like the sale of the RC side of hobico to horizon hobbies has been approved

Another Hanger 9 blink and you miss it

I have no doubt that current flyers will enjoy using glow engines for as long as they can but will anyone joining the hobby now see glow engines as anything but old hat
-
**LINK**manufacturers seems to have written of glow power with new models been advertised as electric or gas power

I did have to smile when a fellow club member saw my laser powered acro wot and suggested I upgraded to petrol. I personally did not see a dle 30 as an upgrade from a laser 70. I do occasionally see newcomers with older glow powers trainer (no doubt because they can be bought cheaply) but as soon a the new modeler fails to start the engine on the first flick the advice now is not how to operate the engine but to bin it and go electric. So I worry no newcomers will see the benifits of glow

I know there are quite a few diehards on this forum who like their glow engines. But glow engines went out of fashion but are there any advantages that still might attract newcomers to the hobby to use them.
I have experimented with all types of models and glow engines are still my prefered choice.
I prefer 60-90 size models. I found charging batteries a bit of a choir especially with the unpredictable weather and I missed the engine sound. Petrol power forced me into larger models that started to get expensive and more difficult to store. Glow at this size model works well for me, simple to install and operate.
I am worried that as they become less popular i will have trouble getting fuel ,engines and parts. Are glow engines still doomed to die out

E-flite 60 - 120 Size Tricycle Electric Retracts would have been my choice for my next project but they are now discontinued. what are the best alternatives?

thank you

it will be supplying 5 Hitec HS225MG servos in an acro wot

I have a LiFe battery and it is this I wanted to replace. The reason being there is no reliable way of checking the remaining capacity. your supposed to work out how much power is used per flight and calculate how many flights each battery will give you allowing a reasonable safety margin. but I'm not great at keeping count of flights and would much prefer a reliable method to measure the battery before each flight hence the reason to change to lipo.
you have just reminded me I do have a powerbox sensor switch **LINK** but I always thought it was a bit bulky for my acro wot
-
if you use a lipo rx battery what type of voltage regulator do you use?
