  1. email powerbox find out what they say, forums are not always accurate, be careful what the powerbox regulates at some JR servos really do not like 6v
  2. Posted by Stevo on 10/08/2014 14:50:17: I've run out and was about to go to LMS! But when I looked at the prices at Weston it didn't save me much at all. Thought I was on to a winner.. Maybe if I ordered 4 gallons, but that would leave so much sitting around for a few years. you need to fly more then mate i order about three times a year from weston, and its always for 4 gallons, not to mention my trips to crown oils for Kerro, very big saving on shop bought stuff and excellent service
  3. only one way to find out kris buy one and let us all know i would only ever put these in cheap foamies but if they work i have a few shockies looking for DMSS receivers
  4. Lee Smalley in agreement with BEB alert !!! holy smokes guys this is a rarity, 1. i did not even know a survey was going on about this A) the BMFA news is such a rubbish read that it is lucky to get a cursery glance before it hits the bin B) as BEB says the website is sooooo rubbish no one looks at it more than to go to the classifieds or download a test 2. if i did know a survey was going on i would not be favour of it based on some of the articles i have read previously i too would consider it a white elephant Reasons 1. national site located wherever would only serve the BMFA, and a very small amount of its members that live close, most of us would never visit it 2. vast amount of money used to build the facility could be put to better use securing multiple fields across the country for its members to use and actually fly at 3. whilst a national centre would be nice for the BMFA bods to have tea at, i personally feel it is more of a "look at what we have" thing than something of real value for its members generally the BMFA is out of touch and very old fashioned and stuck in its ways, one look at the website+ BMFA news tells you this, I think it was Simon Delaney that was brought in as editor, and he started to modernise the mag, only for him then go !! nice !! and now we are back to the usual rubbish content, a mag that has 50 70% of its content in free flight and vintage when i would estimate 20% of its members actually participate in. yes the above has not a lot to do with the OP but i personally of the opinion that it shows an organisation that really does not listen that much and very backward in its approach, we are only now able to apply online for insurance ...its 2014 guys !!!! wake up!

  10. Posted by The Wright Stuff on 07/08/2014 09:36:57: Lee, your communication to the seller appears to have been very diplomatic. Glad it was sorted. Was he aware of this thread, or would he have refunded you anyway? no idea mate but i suspect someone raised it, it seems weird that only a day or two after starting the thread was i refunded,,, why should it take such steps ????
  11. Posted by Prop Nut on 07/08/2014 09:32:56: I understand your anger and frustration Lee. If your remarks seem immoderate to some, it's only because they can judge the situation in the cold light of day and it doesn't affect them directly, as it does you. In these situations it's often better to wait for a day or two before venting one's spleen, so that comments can be objective and reasonable, but we all get wound up at times, especially when it seems impossible to get any action. I'm glad to hear you got your money back. Edited By Prop Nut on 07/08/2014 09:34:11 A day or two!!!!!! prop nut did you miss the bit where i have mentioned two months!!!!!!!!!
  12. Anyway on a lighter note, today i received a refund from said person, can i thank anyone who may have helped sort this for me, 9 you know who you are) as much as i did not want to come on here and air dirty laundry, it has sorted the issue out for me, so it seems job done, can i also say that i really do not want to put one man bands off from trying to produce one off items that might be of real use to us modellers, but i do have some simple advice. 1. yes you probably already have another proper job, so if it is going to take some time to do the job, please warn us in advance, we can then either accept this or not 2. keep in contact, dont just ignore emails texts and phone calls, you may find us very patient if you explain the delay 3. if it all goes wrong, please refund us as promptly as we paid you, these days there really is no excuse thanks all for you input sensible and silly
  13. Rob, to say it is just a temper tantrum is by definition childish, when you have gone down almost every avenue and given the party every opportunity to put things right, you are then left with not that many options, Police as discovered do not want to know, trading standards as he is not a registered Business (or not one they could find) also did not want to know, so what options are you left with?? As the modelling fraternity is quite a small one then some leverage can be gained by publicly complaining (as distasteful as that is) on forum like this, it hopefully serves two purposes, maybe someone who knows him can exert some influence and also warns others to be very cautious when dealing with said person or business, what do you want us to do rob , keep quite and accept the loss of money? if you were warned off a company that you were just going to spend a lot of money with, would you call that a temper tantrum, or good cautious advice, can you also point me to any of my posts or emails to Richard where i had a tantrum?? considering the delay i think you will find i was quite restrained (which will come as a shock to some on here) as for only one complaint i think you need to ask around the scale fraternity, subsequent to placing my order with Richard i have spoken to quite a few people and responses have ranged from "ooo he is slow" to "dont go near him with a bargepole" so now you know about RA Rob please feel free to use him ....just don't say we did not warn you!! and by the way i have been in the hobby for 25 years so i know good service in the industry when i see it.
  14. Lol yep too soon beb, to be fair Adrian i was a bit taken aback, it is not like i only waited a week, and yet i was being unreasonable!!!! I was almost lost for words yes it is only 20 quid but that is not the issue, i am a very principled man and it is that that offends me the most! We are all modellers here and i would never treat a fellow modeller in such a way without a very very good reason, the only text i have had of Richard just a few days ago, mentioned that he only does this to help modellers out...like he was doing me a favour!!! Well i am sorry but if you take someone's money and don't supply them with anything that's a favour i can do without!!
  15. i took the man to be of good reputation as he is a known name within the hobby, that is the reason i sent the money as a payment to a friend or relation, that way he did not get charged for me using paypal and i assumed all would be well, i understand that there are cottage industries and one man band people in this hobby that is why i let it go for two months before starting down other avenues, such as coming on here, as i have had so little response from the person, i do not see what else i can do other than contact trading standards, tax or police, to see where i stand ........either way i will prevail.
  16. well i wish you better luck than I , if its a MK9 then Phil at fighter aces does them if it is a MK5 or earlier then your a bit stuck
  17. in fact i do loads of parts for 1/5 scale spitfire all of them £20.00 paypal me and i promise to send them you .....honest
  18. your so funny matt, well done, i hope you get better service than i did
  19. Posted by Tomtom39 on 06/08/2014 15:05:28: Ouch! If of any help he should be at the BMFA nationals if you are going. yes i will be going and i will now be looking for him, thanks
  20. Posted by Steve Jones 2 on 06/08/2014 14:39:11: Lee, Shame you are having trouble, sounds like others have had some delays, supprised by your tone despite the frustration. Maybe a little more diplomacy or patience would help... If that does not work the I would recommend a stronger bungee cord on your beloved Teddy..... lol i do not own a teddy anymore i have grown up from that and making stupid comments, i really hope you never have a problem like this where someone takes your money and makes no effort to either supply you with what you want or does not refund you your money, if however you do ever have this happen to you be assured i would be far more sympathetic to your cause than others on here
  21.   below is a tail of the emails, as you can read i was really horrible to him, really confrontational, I have waited 2 months for this is everyone ok with this ??? do i live in a different world to you lot, i have paid him money!!! he has not replied for ages and has not sent me anything is this ok in your world, i am supposed to be happy about this? or even thankfull? patience? is 2 months not patient ???   obviously it is all my fault   Mon 04/08/2014 13:08   Richard, as you have so far failed to communicate to me I have little alternative but to take this further, we will be in touch.     Wed 30/07/2014 16:49   Yet again Richard, I have had no communication from you, can you please advise if you intend to send the items or refund me the money I sent you.   Please respond     Tue 29/07/2014 10:17 Richard, the delay is now not acceptable, and is now holding my build up, can you either supply the 1/5th scale MK5 spitfire exhaust stubs or please refund the full amount back into my paypal account so that I may order an alternative   On Monday, 14 July 2014,   Any Update Richard my exhaust is back and I would like to get her finished now!       On Monday, 7 July 2014, 21:13, "Smalley, Lee" wrote:   Richard, any news on this I still have not received anything, can you please advise this is now holding up the project.   Regards Lee Smalley   From: Richard Rawle  Sent: 02 June 2014 14:07 To: Smalley, Lee Subject: Re: exhaust stubs   Hi Lee Best way is paypal and i will get it sorted. Thanks Richard   Richard Rawle   On Monday, 2 June 2014, 13:37, "Smalley, Leewrote:   Hi Richard, I see you have some 1/5th scale exhaust stubs for the spitfire MK5 and Hurricane for £13.50, can I order these and if so what is the best way for you?? Edited By Lee Smalley on 06/08/2014 15:01:20
  22. for long periods of time i had no response at all, on monday i finally had a response saying he will refund me via paypal as we all know this only take 20 seconds to do and is transferred almost immediately as of yet i have received nothing, you are correct however i can afford the 20 quid but for me it is the principle i have sold numerous items on BMFA ebay etc and i always are honest straight up and prompt in everything i do with fellow modellers, if needs be i will drive down to see him face to face and yes it will cost me more than 20 quid to do that
  23. ok can you lot not read.. firstly i have had multiple contact with him over 2 months,,,, not two days two months and yes matt seriously what do you not understand it is 20 quid, i take it from this you would be happy being robbed of 20 quid on the street, if you are that happy why dont you send me 20 quid you obviously have too much, and i cant claim a refund as i used friends and family, you all seem very happy to deal with people who take money and ignore and plainly refuse to give money back they have taken and have made no efforts to provide what you have requested. i have rang and text him and he has not responded to anything
  24. on the 2nd of June 2014i sent Mr Richard Rawle £20.00 for some dummy exhaust stubs and despite numerous emails tests and unanswered phone calls he has refused or failed to supply what i have requested or refunded my money, i sent him the payment by paypal friends and family (as he is a well known name on the circuit i did not feel it was a problem) and even 2 days ago he said he would refund my money and has failed to do so, so i now have no alternative but to contact trading standards and the police to see what can be done, the only excuse he has come up with is that he has started a new job (i hope it is not in finance) and only does this to help out modellers and its not a job ..... well maybe the tax people would be interested to hear that as well eh!! so just a note kids please dont use this guy and if you see him at shows boo him from me Edited By Lee Smalley on 06/08/2014 12:36:51
