Thanks to Cloud Models & others before, the Crescent Bullet is still available as a traditional kit.
Shaping the fuselage curves with razor plane & sanding block is a very satisfying building experience.
Reviewed as one of the easiest kits to build - it has pitfalls for the inexperienced but builds into a super model.All the best.

Check the accuracy of the wing cut-out in the fuselage sides.
The Firebird kit needed some trimming here & from memory the Magician likewise.
A minor issue in a good quality kit but worth a mention. -
Hi Richard,
I currently have a Firebird under construction & it is going together very well.
Yes - it's more or less a Magician with a more conventional canopy position
and trike U/C.
The wing looks very similar to the Magician's & is possibly the same.
The plan doesn't have all the super detail of the Magician's but is fine.
It's a good quality kit with many parts CNC cut.

CA is very useful for some jobs - such as running it through the joints on wing ribs
assembled onto spars. The fumes can give you a feeling of having a heavy cold if
not used carefully - unless there are more benign types available now...

Chris if you're using a SLEC round mount the tapered beams will make the captive nut
arrangement difficult. Self tappers into this type of mount is generally very secure on a 40.

Why can't you use Poly C, or Eazy Kote. Aren't they basically the same stuff as Ronseal.
They're water based & if applied straight to the veneer will ripple it.

I've used Ronseal type varnish before with success as an alternative to sanding sealer
when the sanding sealer had run out.
I've not yet had a problem with sanding sealer on foam wings as long as it isn't thinned...
Try it on a small area or scrap experimental piece 1st.

Uno-Wot kit with ailerons & reduced dihedral is a nice elegant flyer.

Hi Gary,
It's a few years since I built it but I used a 5S 4000 Lipo based 900W power system in my Kougar.
Scorpion S2 3026-710kV motor (not sure if these excellent motors are are still available).
11x7 prop & 60A ESC.
Loads of power with this.
There are numerous other options but watch out for ground clearance with a big prop... -

Cheers Gary. The Kougar was an interesting model to build - the DIY foam wing balsa
veneering was quite an enjoyable task after joining up the sheets to make the skins.
It looks like you've put in some graft to strip it all back.
A turtle deck fully covering the top would be interesting & would probably change the character
of the model. The original plastic top was a quick way of making a boxy fuse look quite
shapely & me being a tad lazy I'd stick with that.

Apparently typhoons are not unusual at this time of year in Japan & let's hope this
'Super' one doesn't cause loss of life or major damage.
The WC organisers don't seem to have put in place any contingencies at all to reschedule matches.
The England v France match could have been one of the best games of the tournament but now we'll
never know..
The way they are dealing with the Scotland v Japan game is a farce.

The SIG Kobra kit is another to look at.
This is electric but it will suit a .25 well.
Hours of building fun with SIG kits...

Good looking Kougars there Gary.
The one I built a few years ago for electric is a very smooth flyer - as is the Bullet.
The Kougar is a bit bulkier & heavier than the bullet - the balsa in my SIG kit was hard stuff...
This one is on 5S Lipo power with a Scorpion motor.

Ordered a former Galaxy Firebird kit from Pegasus on Monday afternoon & it arrived
Wednesday morning.
The Firebird is similar to the Magician but with a tricycle u/c & the canopy further forward.
The 50" wing looks the same.
Looking forward to building this one, just need to find a .40 or .46 to put in it....

The quality of this latest version of the kit looks very good.

Sorry to hear of your losses.
Back in the early 80's I remember a chap flew a Skyrider regularly & it always flew superbly. A Meteor 40 powered it - nostalgia!
Shortly after, some others doubled it up in size & powered it with a petrol engine - also superb .
