  1. Hi all, new boiler fitted plus wireless remote thermostat and progammer. Ok, on /off easy, but trying to set it for timed settings are very difficult even with the manual. Do you think these are over complicated for the general public, or is it old age setting in lol.

  2. Today I saw odd shaped (to me) contrails. Beautiful blue sky with contrails at a perfect 90 degrees shape. Wondered what sort of info was recieved by pilot to achieve such a drastic looking change of direction ? Or is this quite normal.

  3. Strange to say I have an MDS 32 powering my Senior Scorpion. Starts faultlessly every time. Never cut on me. When in the air it is so quiet that I have been asked if it electric lol. I was informed by our resident engine guru, that an MDS smaller than a 40 is fine. After a 40 there was a different carb. fitted that was inclined to give trouble. True or not, or was I a lucky one. Cheers

  4. Had a new boiler installed Feb 2020 in an unused back bedroom.. Plumber insisted on a Co2 alarm to be mounted at a certain distance from boiler. Also down stairs we had a gas fire. Same request from installer. Portable Co2 alarms remarkably cheap in B&Q.

  5. Hi all, I will be sending in an order to Slec on Sat for balsa sheets to complete the above model. Re garding the possible un availability of future balsa supplies, would it be prudent to buy an extra bundle of sheets. 1, could this be construed as panic buying (Covid toilet rolls come to mind) lol, 2, if ok what would such a bundle consist of. Cheers

  6. Erfolg, there are very many FREE alternatives to Microsoft Office. I have been using Libre for a few years now. Gives me all I want. Cheers. Also you can buy a stand alone dvd drive for around £20.  Just plug into laptop.

  7. Thanks Keith, decorating !!! At my age my daughters have banned me from all step ladders, triple extension ladders, even stools lol As they are so busy I have to pay people to do jobs I have done for over sixty years maintaining my home. The only decorating I do now is covering my models which I love. Keep safe

  8. Thanks all for your help. I will have a good read and make some big decisions soon and I will report back. I think you miss read my internet speed Keith. It's 24 mbs. As I live S.Wales we are in lock down at the moment, so Ican find time to sort it, but. I would rather be flying. Take care

  9. Hi Keith, I did use google, it said using iOS will prevent a virus, but malware is possible. My speed is fine 24mbs. Not sure if I close apps, Safari etc, I have always pressed button on bottom of iPad, sometime the one on top ? Thanks for your help, don't think your brother in law can provide much more than you have. Have a nice day at the field, and may your landings be like a butterfly with bad feet lol. Cheers

  10. Hi Keith, I think I have only backed my photos. Shame really as I have always used my iPad rather my laptop to purchase items on line due to Apples inherent safety. I am having second thought now. Thanks for yours and Matty B,s help. ps due to the fact that my iOS is old, I wondered if this is making my iPad susceptible to modern threats ?

  11. Hi Keith thanks for your help. My mistake, the comment states "Your phone is is infected" no mention of I phone. Re updating,I assume updating rerfered to iOS ? My version is shown as 9.3.5. I also have 4.4Gb available. Photos 645 are taking up the most storage. What is the most recent iOS ? Cheers ps other times it states "your phone may be infected. Otherwise the problems are minor.  Upadate my latest message reads "remove possible infections on your iPhone, protect your data today". This one does mention iPhone which I do not posses.  Could this be classed as phishing ?  As Matty suggested, I may have to go back to factory settings to stop this irritating non sense

  12. Hi Keith, "on its last legs" was my comment as I am having many minor problems such as freezing, pages often being re loaded due to a problem and so forth. Don't know where "your iPhone is infected" message came from as I do not have a smart phone leave alone an i phone lol. Could well take up Matty,s advice to go back to factory settings when I can pluck up some courage. As they say "age does not come alone". Cheers
