  2. While Article 253 removes the applicability of many articles form SUA's, the interpretation being given is a bit backwards. If somebody was to go to Heathrow & throw bricks at passing 737's they would be in breach of Article 137 (because 737's are aircraft in the ANO). If somebody was to go to a model flying site and throw bricks at passing models, they would not be in breach of Article 137, as SUA's are not classed as aircraft in the ANO (Article 253 removes the applicability from them). If however somebody was to fly an SUA at/into or very close to a 737 in a manner likely to damage it, they would be in breach of Article 137. It's the damaging of the SUA in Article 137 that is removed by Article 253, not using the SUA to damage aircraft. Edited By Rob Buckley on 24/12/2014 14:54:30

    LMA Forum

As has been mentioned by several others, we run the LMA in our spare time for fun, and many of us have full time jobs to fit in too. While it’s unfortunate you didn’t get a timely response, all the committee’s contact details are on the LMA website, so if you don’t get a reply from one person, try another of us by email. As explained in Chapter 3 of CAP658, the LMA operates an inspection scheme for over 20Kg models with the CAA on behalf of all the UK Modelling Associations. You don’t have to be a member of the LMA to make use of the scheme, but it’s free to use if you’re an LMA member. All the inspectors are happy to provide help and advice, and speaking to Tony will put you in contact with your most local one. As with any club made up with 1000 people at random from society, some will have bigger egos than others, but the distribution is no worse than any other association. It’s a shame that some have a bad perception of the LMA, but we’re just people! Rob Buckley, LMA Secretary Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 06/11/2014 16:52:17

  8. Posted by ConcordeSpeedbird on 10/09/2012 16:46:30: The A380 has the same tyres as Concorde by the way (had to pop that in!). CS No it doesn't. Concorde had 47x15.75 - 22 main tyres, while the A380 has 1400 x 530 R23. The nose tyres are different sizes too. The Michelin option on A380 is NZG (near zero growth) radials, which are the same basic design as the Michelin NZG's fitted to Concorde...so similar, but not the same.
