Thanks Flight1. Surprise, surprise - Hobby King don't have either of those chargers in stock. I'm yet to buy anything from them as they never have it available !

i know got to be quick with hobbyking due to its competitive prices. i've lost out taking to long to think and it's sold out that day.

As for an alternative don't need hobbking/  the same charger but under another name see here in stock and available with uk plugwink + if you got a wireless charging device/phone it does wireless charging! who!/who

  2. well as I read it by Jan 21 you should have upgraded to the new regulations. All heat and smoke alarms will have to be interlinked (either wirelesly or wired). Inter linking has been require for some time now. for a easy setup just get wireless interlinked alarms with 10 year lithium bats and then you can forget about them untilll they need replacment in 10 years. as for carbon monoxide they don't need to be interlinked

As for tolerable standard means a guidence thats not set in stone so you can make ajustments for say a open plan house etc.

  3. to answer the op question is that most 2.4 systems currently are good and reliable most problems are due to the istallation/broken or placement of arials and the most common is battery(I had a battery go down last weekend and telemetry saved the day aborted take off as the tx screamed 3.7v rx voltagesurprise and now i get to fly again my lovley scale luton minor)

So if on budget(like me) your choice of make will be based on RX costs so choices are

one of the Frsky radio's which you can plug a module in back for your legacy RX's

FlySky Paladin PL18 (very under rated and under expposed)

Radiomaster T16s multipotocol fantastic ( not as refined as my Horus x12s) the future

and please note if you have a frsky om optx you can have a R9M 868MHz Module and compatable reduntancy rx and the 2.4 rx for extra security on two frequancy bands like jeti in a way)

  4. Don't thin jb weld it will change the chemical adhesion abilities to metal and weaken it a lot . Just plonk the two sealed tubes in a tub of hot water for a bit (15 min) then mix well ( as with all epoxys) and it will be quite runny more than enough to run into the metal tube. + remember to clean/ degrease the metal and abrade the surfaces to be stuck and it will stick well.

  5. Well if a electronic circuit is designed to run at a said voltage it should do so , anything above that will generate excessive heat that the either the circuit can cope with or not, but will shorted it's service life.

Running at more than 5v is a chance you either take or don't, fit a diode to drop voltage and then don't worry

as for me parroting the specs the MKS designers put it there for a reason but Hay hoindecision
