  1. JVR - Can I ask, are you making a cut through into a sacrificial base board or have you stepped/spaced the material off by some method so as to cut the ply only.
  2. Simply download Fusion 360. For all your CAD, CAM and postprocessing requirements. Free and totally comprehensive. Includes Mach3 postprocessors. Many YTube tutorials. Does everything it says on the box and completely free to hobbyists.
  3. Could anyone help with the C of G for a Diamond 1800 m/glider please.
  4. Could anyone spec. a NiMh battery for a Multiplex Dart 2ch please? The fuz. is very narrow as is the fuz. aperture (20mm wide) All available types seem to be too big. The height would need to be around 35mm. I have several 2x2 and 1x4`s but it will not accept them by a long chalk.
  5. Thanks guys, I have gotten there!! Answer was to let the ESC play its classic "DOODLE UH" with the throttle fully forward, allow count of the next three slow beeps. (I assume that gives 3 cell recognition) Pull back on the throttle and "bobs your uncle" Obliged to all for your input.
  6. Tony - I suspect that in my inexperiance. This is how I got in trouble in the first place. Trying to emulate the setting of previous ESC`s? Will I pull back on the throttle after a certain number of beeps. Lipo is 3 cell.
  7. Thanks Gentlemen - Have carefully re-bound the RX with a completely clean model channel on the TX. Appears to have solved the full power prop problem. However ESC (O/E Century 40A) will now not stop beeping @~ 1 beep/sec.? Suspect it may be faulty as it does not seem to do a cell count correctly. Control servo`s all work as they should?
  8. Chris - Forgive my crude humor. The prop is off. - Spectrum TX is dx8 and Rx is AR6210. Thanks for help.
  9. Have aquired a used Max Thrust Riot. Has the classic syndrome of going to full revs if the TX is inadvertantly shut off. I have no programming knowledge or ifo as concerns the standard ESC on this model. Could anyone advise please as only have a few fingers remaining!!!
  10. Yes - But. I have both types of w/s paper. White and transparent. My problem more specifically is that I want a white bordered lettering (1mm) to go onto red s/film wing - Of course if I use white paper, I would then have cut around the letters. This a mildly fancy script and so not practical. Similarly if I go transparent. I cannot seem to find a solution?????
  11. Anyone using GIMP or similar software to make Water Slide Transfers? My dilema is, how to print out anything in "White" onto the transfer paper. There is, I presume, no reason for white to exist in a printer cartridge. I can of course leave a transparent area and slide onto a prepared white background. Just wondered if there could be an alternate work around. Any help or discussion appreciated.
  12. Gentlemen - Thanks for all info. Ordered the Bradbury. Thanks will-o for the link.
  13. While I have many books on general and specific RC subjects. A renewed interest in gliding, prompted a search for an "understable" weather specific book. I have the most of the classic RC glider books, which "address" the subject, but I cannot find anything to advance my weather condition interpretation. Dont know if I have explained myself well. But if you recognise my dilema. Any reccomendations gratefully received.
  14. Andy - Well recieved. Many thanks for taking the time. Much appreciated.
  15. Hi - Anyone have a set of vintage "Orange Box" glider plans. Would like to purchase original plan or copy. Looking for articles also if available. All assitance appreciated.
  16. Looking for a UK source of servo lead safety clips. Thanks for any help!
  17. Looking for a UK source of the little servo plug safety clips. Your help appreciated.
  18. Masher - Thanks for info. Seems like a gap in the UK market for someone here!
  19. Could anyone reccomend an off the shelf, external battery cutoff switch please. Not Rx type. But in line between battery and esc.
  20. The prop axis foreward point is about 9" above ground. So 12" prop would be no problem.
  21. Steve - Hm! Thanks for guidance. Will go for the 600 W / 4S option. Would you be able to make any recommendations please? i.e. Motor, ESC, Prop. Hope I am not asking too much? But as said, bit of newbie. But learning at pace.
  22. Steve - Yes thanks for info. I did indeed mean .25cc I put the G25 + an extension onto the Prangster. Slipped the 3 cell 2200 in just to see if the recipe would give me a CoG. After little lead forward, it was balanced. That setup was a touch under 4 lbs. - I only added the 40% following a crib sheet off the net. So may have misunderstood, possibly meant just the airframe + 40%??
  23. Objective is to convert surplus old Prangster 3D, to mild hack. It was flying with a 25cc IC and so I supposed surplus G25 Turnigy @ 870 kv would probably be useable. However!! I tried to do some calculations from web gleanings and I fear I have something awry? I would appreciate a learned check my suppositions and calculations please :- Model + Turnigy + 2200mAh 3 cell weighs in at around 4 lbs. So added ~40% for flying weight of 5.6 lbs ?. Going for 150W/lb = 840W? Usually use the 3 cell lipos so :- Given Amps = Watts/Volts. ( I used 10V nominal for the batteryl) so 840W /10 = 8.4A call off. Calculating battery capacity with Time x Current /60. :- I want say an 8min. flight. Current is 85A peak so go for 70% in use = 59.5A. So 8 x59.5 /60 = 7.9Ah or 7900mAh. So my three cells will not cut it by these calculations. Does not seem right! Be gentle, bit of a newbie at this.
  24. Sorry guys, about turn. Have recieved and accepted an offer for the Radian. So will go as is. Looking now for a Radian Pro now. Tom is yours for sale?
