  1. Hi Jan,

" Osprey Aircraft of the Aces.18.    Hurricane Aces 1939-40".  Not a lot of information but does show the image you mention also that while with 111 Squadron it was a regular mount of "ace to be" Flg Off Henry M Ferris.

L2001 was finally written off in a fatal accident at Hatfield 19 June 1940.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

  2. Hi Mathew,

Have found the instruction manual to the Hi Boy Series II. I'm afraid it gives no information regarding control throws and the CG is "With the tank FULL the model should hang slightly nose down when supported under the wings between 1/4 to 1/3 of the width of the wing (cord) back from the leading edge." Not very helpful advice as I would never balance a model with a full tank? What I can remember when I had one of these kits ( 30yrs ago?) is tank height was a problem?? Also it weighed a lot but could take a fair bit of punishment.

The instructions do mention "drawings", but I haven't come across those but the advice and link given by DD is very useful.

  3. Hi Rob.

    Thanks for reply, e-mail sent.

Have put in an order for the book via my son who works in a book store.

Also a good book for those who are into high detail, is the Tamya's " How to Build" Fairey Swordfish. Published by ADH Publishing. My copy is from 1999!.......can it be that long ago?....well it may not be around, so a tip to the secondhand book sellers may be called for.

Is this kit still available? I have done the usual search on the web but no joy, and the article in the RCM&E makes no mention of a Kit?

Love the size, and mention in one article that 1300 mAh Li-Po was used (I have a few of those to hand ) makes it a very desirable model to have.

  5. I have ordered from electricwingman before and have been pleased with the service and products but I thought I needed to give them an extra " thumbs up" for the service I received this week.

I placed an order on tuesday and recieved it as promised the next day. The parcel was very well packaged and on opening it everything was inspected.

Here I found a small error in the order, the 3s 450 lipo batteries i ordered were 2s 450's. I rang Paul Maddock and explained the error and he was very apologetic and said replacements would be in the post that day and delivered the next.

The package duly arrived the today, very good service, thanks Paul
