  1. Kobra 20

For approx. 40 years ago there was a plan in the Danske Modelflyve magazine.
It was a Kobra 20 (105 cm span,) and since then it has been built countless times and in many versions.
12 years ago we had a big winter building project in my club, where we made 12 planes at our club evenings at the local school.
So this year we had talked about resuming the project with a club project in the coming winter.
Then we contacted Dane-rc.dk and asked if he could help with laser cutting the models and he wanted to help, but he didn't have time to make the Autocad file because of other projects with large tow planes that he has promised to finish.
Then they asked me if I could make the file, and I thought I could handle that, since I had made a couple of retro gliders last winter.
After a few days I was ready to test cut the first one and it looked fine, and after test building and flying some corrections have come and version 3 is now ready for delivery.

Dane-rc has now delivered the aircraft that we need, and can deliver to others who are interested in it.

He gives a 10% introductory discount until 1 December.

Use coupon code: SpeedsterDEN          and get it for 52,20 Euro.

  2. On the 3 Lidl in the video there is a tow coupling as in the video below.

The towplane is a Funcub with a large motor, but a standard Funcub will also do it.

The Standard Lidl is 280 gram and the Flying wing Lidl is 225 gram AUW

On ather gliders we just use a piece of velcro, on the Lidl around 5 mm, and we place it at the underside of the fuselage around 5 cm from the nose.

  3. Making the Lucky Star, it is a vintage Dansk modelflyve industri A1 freeflight glider from 1959.

I made it as a 3 ch RC glider with rudder, elevator and towcoupling

The Lucky Star was one of the few DMI gliders that I did not make as a boy 🙂

On the 3 flight It was 13 minutes in the air, not bad for a untrimmed small vintage glider in mid winter 🙂

The plan is in Modelflyvning danmark,s plan database here: https://www.modelflyvningdanmark.dk/t...

And many more vintage model planes here: https://www.modelflyvningdanmark.dk/t...

PS although my DX8 gen 1 has latest firmware it will still run/bind on either DSM2 or DSMX

PPS Only pain in the bum is the models will not transfer from a DX8 gen 1  to a DX8 gen 2 via the memory card

This page can change spm files from the DX8 G1 to Spektrum G2

I have used it with no problems ?

  5. I have test flown the Lazy Bee ?

Michael from Dane RC is also flying in my RC club ?

Video from the maiden flight day at his private airfield:

He is also working on a glider version that I can test fly on the slope ?

  6. Turn on power on the plane.

    Hold the plane

    Set throttle to max

Turn on the tx and after a few beeps pull the throttle back to 0, then the esc is calibratet.

aaaaand ready to go after the cell count.beeps

    yes

This should be done with a new rx or new esc.

You can maybe also just try to set the throttle throw to max and /or first try to give max pull back trim, sometimes this is enough to arm the esc.

But the right way is to calibrate it as first described, then the esc know where 0 and full power is and it will arm the esc when powered up next time

  7. Maybe you are way off in trim and sub trim.

Try to set the aileron trim to neutral and set the sub trim to 0, and adjust the servos and the the pushrods so the ailerons are in neutral position and try again

And take a look at the Dualrate/expo screen, here you can also adjust the travel in the dualrate.

  8. The first time you calibrate the esc and set the full and low power settings.

Set the throttle at full and turn on the tx and rx and at the first bip you pull back to low throttle.and after that there will be a battery cell count beeps and the esc is loaded and ready.

After this you will need to set the motor brake on,, (motor glider) by using the manual for the esc. or a programing card

    Good luck

  9. Just get one with voice, you will not regret it.

Then you can have variometer and other nice stuff.

But I would go for a least a 8 ch.

6 ch is not that good if you want a plane with flaps and other fun things,

    Cheers
