  1. Hiya all. I am experiencing some problems when pictures are inserted into threads. Take for instants the thread by Danny Fenton regarding the landing light for his Hurricane. The picture of the headlight taken from RCM&E is ok but the picture of Danny's trial piece is just blank with a small icon in the middle. This just a for instance as it is happening a lot. Any help appreciated as usual.

    Cheers

    Geoff.

  2. Hiya. All these bikes and no-one has mentioned my favourite. I had a Matchless G12CSR in my youth. It was a great bike and I could see off the Bonni's when I used to frequent The Ace Cafe on the North Circular Road. Anyone remember the chain link fencing they put up between the dual carriage ways? Good stuff that 'cos when you hit it you came out the other side chips. It had to go when 'er indoors started producing the rug rats. Hoping to win the lottery one day before I get too old so I can buy a Harley Trike, as long as it's got reverse gear. lol

    Geoff.........Good memories dept.

  3. Hiya all. I've updated to the latest? offering fom Phoenix which is V4.0j. Had a bit of a problem to start with but uploaded easily enough, eventually. The reason I have gone to whole hog is because if you want to fly 'around the world' the majority of people on line have all gone to v4.0j and you need to be on this to join them. I have found no problems with this version at all and I'm really enjoying it, except when you get buzzed by the crazy Italians and you can't understand a word they are saying. lol

  4. Hiya all. Just to let you know that I have started a new session heading on Phoenix. It seemed daft to me that I am flying all alone like Billy-No-Mates when I could start an 'open' session and see who turns up. Session name is modelflying open. There is no password. This is for only when a proper session isn't going on.

    Cheers my friends.

  5. Hiya all. Many thanks for all this input. I do feel that I am learning (remembering) with Phoenix but have now come to the point of practising something new. Done circuits and bumps, landings and inverted low passes, rolls etc. I think I'll take BEB's suggestion next and input a bit of weather.

  6. Hiya Chrissie, Great thread girl. Well it's just plain old Geoff I'm afraid, although that was down to my sister. Story goes that when I was born in 1941 Dad was on war work and Mum had a bad time with me so it was down to my sister Joan to register me. Mum and Dad wanted me to be a Frank but sis had other ideas so Geoffrey it is.

    Hi Chrisie

Well, as you know i use my own name here but I do use another in other places.

    Fetchermite.

Fetchermites used to be the small boys who haunted model flying fields and were used to retrieve models for ther older flyers. The name was dreamed up by humorous columnist Pylonius back in the 50s

I never was one but I use it at times as a apen name etc.

Hiya Peter. As a BTW I was a 'fetchermite' when I was a kid, although I didn't know it until now. I used to live in High Wycombe and the local flying area was called The Rye. Of course it was free flight in those days and I got very adept at climbing trees. It was one of these flyers, Polly Dimock, who nurtured my early interest in the sport.

    Thanks for the memory.

Still attempting to upgrade from 3 to 4 - I'll join you next time online if I've managed to get to 4.0j!

Hiya John. I had a problem to start with but all of a sudden it loaded straight in no problem. Keep trying.

    Cheers

Hiya Tom, I've got the latest beta version 4.0j

    Geoff

  10. Hiya John. I have upgraded from V3.0s to V4.0i. Like you I'm having problems upgrading to V4.0j Final. I agree with what you said about the beta testing and this is what me upgrade in the first place. I had tried to join various sessions only to be told that they were using a version higher than mine so not to be left out in the cold I upgraded so that I could join in. Guess what? I am now being told by some sessions that my version is too high. ARGHHHHH!
