The reason I moved house was to have my own flying field in my front garden. However my landlord/farmer insists I only fly electric during winter months due to pheasent breeding in local pens, otherwise I can use another field 100mtrs away.

IF using Poly-c (yes its water based) you MUST seal the balsa with at least 1 coat of cellulose sanding sealer. Its about £6 for .5ltr can if you search the internet for "cellulose sanding sealer". Apply 1 coat first, allow to dry, then lightly sand to a smooth finish. Poly-c can be used with tissue or glass-cloth (light-weight), and is fuel proof. It can also be mixed 50/50 with polycell lightweight filler to create a simple light filler coat, that can be sanded real easy to cover those urm not so nice joins.
