  1. You will probably find that the images from the camera are far too big to upload to the album's here. So........

Connect camera to your PC with your USB lead, or place the camera memory card into a card reader connected to your pc. Open Explorer, search for the camera, it will probably show up as drive D .. Open that folder, check content. Open a second Explorer window, create and open a folder there. Get both Windows in view, select the camera folder in the first window, then right click on it and drag it into the second window. Choose ...Copy here.. from the pop up box and all the files will be copied to the new folder leaving the originals on the camera memory card.....

  2. I use an electric paint stripper gun as the heat source, works well. Up until very recently I used my trusty Black and Dekker B&Q special, a two heat wonder, but that recently gave up the ghost and has been replaced with an all singing all dancing digital gun from Ebay with fully adjustable heat control. I've yet to do any soldering with it but it's as least powerful as the old one so see no potential problems.

  3. Pretty much every club or organisation I have ever been involved with can only impose a rule change at the AGM or if the perceived need for a change can't wait until then they must call an EGM. The only exception to this being a change in the law, such as the recent height limits which affect our club as we fly on an active airfield.

  4. Our club has pretty much done all the above and apart from actually getting a response out of some members it hasn't been too onerous. The biggest required change was to send out mass emails and the monthly newsletter by using BCC command in email so that each recipient only sees their own email address in the mail header.

  5. I would second Plotgiant, I used them a couple of years ago to print up the plans I had drawn up on CAD for my Predator drone. I emailed them the DWF file and the order requirements. They phoned me back to clear up a little confusion I had created by my drawing number system. The plans were with me in a couple of days and very reasonably priced, in fact I needed to order double the quantity of drawings plus pay a 10 pence surcharge in order to meet their minimum order value of £ 5.00! Add £ 4.00 postage and for £ 9.00 I had a large Brown envelope of crisply drawn plans.

  6. I turned up at one of my local coastal slope sites earlier this year to find the police and our local charity based search and rescue group there with very expensive looking quad. They were looking for missing young woman whose car had been found nearby. They had apparently been searching the cliffs and inaccessible foreshore for several days. I politely approached their preflight briefing and asked if my flying there would be inappropriate or would hinder their work. They were very obliging and we quickly arranged respective flying areas which worked well, in fact one of their base camp guys came and stood with and we chatted about their search work and model flying. Obviously his main task whilst standing near me was to monitor radio comms from the search team in case they had an unexpected need to manoeuvre their quad back into my agreed flight zone. All in all a very successful, if impromptu, airspace sharing agreement.

The young woman they were searching for? Sadly her body was washed ashore some 25 miles along the coast a few days later.
