  1. I started on the front under fuselage. The undercarriage is now finally fitted, and I am being ambitious and building over it. If needs be it will be easy to cut through the deck to remove the undercarriage. This is the area on the plan More to come
  2. I decided to put the fuel tank in since there is no further reason to remove it. I assembled, leak tested it and installed it (it can be removed/reinstalled through the fuselage if required). Then the skin: It is quite a subtle curve, which I quite like. Left to set whilst I watch the Rugby, then I will sand the corners and start work on the last two decks beneath the wing and fuselage.
  3. Not much progress today thanks to the rugby! I put in the glow extension permanently. I will need to extend the earth wire though. Seen with the driver on as it will be in use. I made a mount for the fuel tank and put a thin layer of varnish in the tank bay, in case of any inadvertent fuel leaks. And the sides of the deck, to be sanded.
  4. Beautiful model, very well done! I am about to start on his Mustang, hopefully I can do half as good a job as you!
  5. I had to mount the engine since the top deck line needs to be in line with the spinner. (Shut your ears Laser Jon) Saito do make the best looking engines in my opinion. I need to finish up some stuff in the fuel tank bay whilst I have access, the throttle being one of them. Note to self- glue throttle tube, fix glow connector, cut fuel tank mount from foam and fuelproof. I can put the formers on though, so I did. To get the heights right: It's pretty incredible that I have found such a well fitting canopy. Here it is not down properly, hence odd angle. I should get that deck on tomorrow.
  6. Thank you very much! Yeah I know what you mean about it being leggy, the undercarriage is from a larger Sukhoi kit. I quite like it, and it will look better when the top and lower decks on the front of the fuselage are on. Paul, I have splashed out and will be using Oracover. These turned out alright. Collets on, a not very exciting picture: I found a canopy when I visited Pegasus models which happens to fit! It's a bit mucky and that tape on the top will NOT GO! Might have to put a glider-esque yaw indicator to cover it. Cockpit floor is in (1/16" for lightness). Next is to build the front deck, excuse my arm.
  7. An exciting job this evening- gluing the tailplane and fin on. First, the post: Tailplane... And fin... And here it is all glued up Similar?! Mine should look a bit more sleek when the canopy and front decks go on. Looks good though; it will be very manoeuvrable.
