Mmmm, another option is to replicate them. Shouldn't be too difficult to build another set?
-
Yes, definitely take your time, it is not a job to rush!

It will probably be fine Adrian, but you might want to check that the servos are not fighting each other with an amp meter. Plenty of tutorials on youtube.

Thats why I opted for the electronic method...

That’s not good news and no guarantee.
if it were me I would repair that. It looks like a fairly clean break both side. I would find a snug fitting length of c/f tubing and glue it in one side first. Glue that side to the fuselage, and when set glue the other side. Something like that would be fine I would have thought. You could also use wires to further strengthen but probably not necessary - top and bottom of fuselage.

Cymaz, did you get it fixed?
Great news that it performs well perhaps, a good case for twin batteries?
I am still waiting for news from Probuild on an out of stock prop since 30 July shocking service sadly.

Nice progress Adrian.
I used the drill method for cutting cowls and always hated the job. All my cowl cutting is done by a Dremel these days - best tool I ever bought, and the cordless version even more versatile you need to get yourself one

Yep and we felt the full force of it all night

Of course I should have taken them out of the packet and had a look - bit of a hangover

Put a bit of soft wire or solder through the tank and slide the bits into position on the wire
how do you hold them to tighten? And presumably the washers go on the inside?
apologies for all the questions

Thanks ED. It just occurred to me, How do you get the nut on the inside

On advice I have purchased one of these for a petrol model. I need to assemble it but there are no instructions. Does the carb line just go in the middle of the cap? Do the two nipples go anywhere on the tank (top), and do I have to use any type of sealant?
cheers

Put the wings on to test out the new pair of wing bolts....worked a treat and it all lines up! The wing is much more solid with the extra bolts. The new extension leads for the twin elevator servo have arrived. They’ve been installed and the throws set as per manual.
All to do now is run up the engine, set the needles ( if needed) and refit the cowl.
There is a little matter of flying it for the first time.....the weather has different plans.
* Note to self.......mustn’t forget to set the failsafe

Excellent just need some decent weather. Good luck with the maiden. With a bit of luck I should be ready soon with the Glens Sukhoi...

Well done and don’t worry about it, I’m super clumsy and almost every job I do something happens remember the rudder on my Sbach?
i look at it like a christening or sacrificial something or other, so the rest of the build and flying will be blessed

I was wondering about cooling as well...

I bought the make your own leads kit, not a chance of me coping with it, Gary does a good job mind.
haha! I can only just manage with my glasses on...
Get a set of cheap magnifying reading glasses. I find them make a huge difference for close up work
I’ll look into that

You'll probably find the integrity of of the plastic flaps is knackered using a screw driver to push them up with - they are so flimsy.
I use the screwdriver to give the metal pins a push from behind so shouldn’t damage the plastic.

Ironically, this is the first year that we haven't booked a holiday for next Easter as my son has exams next year. Dodged a bullet!
It is simple economics, they had debt they couldn't service.
I am getting fed up with these big companies failing, bosses walk away with millions, jobs are lost, customers let down, and pension pots depleted.
It is about time the law was changed to protect employees and consumers. Pension pots must be protected in future, and it must be made illegal to use them for finance (not saying that was the case here).
When companies are too big to fail something is clearly very wrong. and something must be done. It is becoming regular news.
So much for the global economy.

Yeah, I got that, but I have to use the tip of a mini screwdriver to push them into place. Perhaps I should try another supplier.
