  1. Yes Reu, you have to strengthen the engine area. Mine is powered by a 20cc 4-stroke glow and my friend's model got a DLE 20cc petrol which is more than enough. Another friend of mine is going to power his with a 15cc petrol engine which, according to me, is the perfect choice.
Top picture shows my model and the bottom one is petrol powered. The petrol powered model's tail plane detached after some flights, so be aware. Mine is much slower and lighter too, but I think that the 120 4-stroke is not powerful enough. A 140-150 4-stroke would be a better choice or a 15cc petrol engine.

  2. Phil, I have just seen the new member of the Wot series, the Wot Mk2 Extreme, 84" for 50cc petrol. I've already called our local ripmax agent to reserve one. I enlarged the Wot 4 Mk1 plan to 73" for 20cc petrol but now i'm going to wait for the 68" 90 size first, then I see. Will I buy the Extreme version? A great YES - I want them all (tell you a secret, my wife pays for them, ask my friend Ken Anderson).

  3. A dream came true. I am now the proud owner of all the Wot 4s marks. The latest, the Mk1 flew Saturday 5th February. I only did 1 flight because of throttle problems. The weather was very poor, windy and cloudy. The throttle problem was sorted out later at home. The day after I flew the Mk2 but today 10th February, public holiday here, it flew 5 times this morning and another 5 flights in the afternoon.
The plan was bought from Basildon Biggles last year. Many said that the colour scheme is nice, other asked if it''s an ARTF, etc. Powered by a Super Tigre 45 turning an APC 10x7, aluminium spinner, pro-film covering and all Futaba servos. Flying weight is 2.7kg, 6lbs. The cowl is a copy of the Mk3 version, sprayed red by my friend William. My son Stefano, also a Wot fanatic, loves this one. Next week I will take a picture of all of them and post it. No other sports model gives me as much satisfaction and pleasure than the Wot 4.

  4. Ken, Sue and I, had a great day at Popeye Village. We also went for a boat ride. Can I keep them here for another week guys? Watch November's issue RCM&E page 82 my son and I after the 500th flight of the Wot Sports Trainer.
No we didn't eat spinach for dinner.
  5. No 1 Ken and his lovely wife Sue landed at Malta International Airport yesterday evening and were given a great warm welcome by me and my wife. We met up 30 mins later at their hotel in Sliema and had a couple of black coffee and tea and a chat. We discussed a bit of everything. I wish Ken and Sue a memorable holiday. British people are the best.
  6. Hi everyone, my Wot Trainer has logged 400 flights yesterday. See my photo album. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this model. Sometimes i hand over  the Tx to someone else and everyone who flew it was impressed. I don't use it as a trainer but as a fun fly model. It is very well balanced, adequately powered by an OS 46 LA turning APC 10x6 prop and Futaba 3001 servos. I want to thank Chris Foss for designing a winner model and Ripmax for presenting it in a RTF version. At the moment I am building the Wot 4 Mk 1 thanks to Basildon Biggles. Flying the Wot Trainer is never enough, i just want to fly it more.
