Surely you are not defending such waste?

Placed an order with Hobbyking on Monday morning at 09:00 hrs. Arrived Tuesday morning 11:00 hrs. Ok it was only a roll of covering but I placed an order for prop driver at the same time from another supplier - still waiting.
Great service but maybe Hobbyking could improve on their rather over the top packaging - approach seems very similar to Amazon. Clearly shares in a bubble wrap company could be a good investment.

Thanks guys, clearly a senior moment on my part, too obvious for words, feeling a bit thick right now!
Duh!

Thanks Ken,
Yes goosebumps to the fore and what a sound, hairs on back of my neck now in on the act!
Cheers

Trying to set up a wot 4 with dual ailerons on a spectrum DX6 radio with 6 channel receiver. How do I set up ailerons so they work independently, if I use a y lead they obviously both go in the same way and there appears to be no way to reverse one servo. I am sure this can't be difficult but still new to dual ailerons. I have power in bind socket, rudder, throttle and elevator as normal and a battery checker in gear. Left with aux 1 and one aileron socket.

Currently building the mark 3 balsa kit, basic version, no engine mount in pack. Don't know about the deluxe kit. I built a unowot twenty years ago for my son and the instructions haven't changed only a couple of addendum sheets. Mr Foss could maybe Update the instructions for 2018, dense text and poor diagrams could be improved!!!

I am knew to building but just about to put the controls in to my Wot 4. I noticed you have put in direct snakes for the elevator and the rudder rather than the pull push system for the rudder and balsa trip approach for the elevator as suggested in the instructions, any particular reason - it does look at lot simpler and neater.

I agree. Be aware if you are out and about and your iPad runs out of space because you loaded up some photos and videos for friends you can't delete them without returning to your computer. You can only delete photos taken by the iPad away from your synchronisation device.

I am building the same mark 3 kit and just behind you in the process so your photos are a great help! I have read the debate on the engine firewall and I am also going to add some re-enforcement as I would also have used 1/4 ply.
Thanks for putting up the photos.

Some advice please.
Building the Mk 3 traditional kit which is only the second kit I have built since building an Unowot for my son many many years ago. Instructions look almost identical!
Queries : fitting an Irvine 53, recommended prop? Wing servos, what size? Should wing servo holes be lined with balsa?
Any other salient point I should consider?
Thanks for any help.
Neil
PS Still have unowot wire undercarriage - identical as far as I can see!

Hi guys
I am currently in Cyprus and have just received a text from 07592 657932 informing me that my mobile number has been drawn as a winner in the Samsung Easter Draw. Apparently I have won £495,000! All I have to do is send my details to an email address with no mention of Samsung. I deleted the text - do you think I have just lost £495,000? I would have settled for a phone .......

Thanks guys, Wot4 it is.

Hi Dennis
I have a wot4 foame and an acrowot foame and can fly basic aerobatics with both eg loops, rolls and stall turns. But as many others experience I find electric flight times too short to get in some meaningful practice.

About to buy either a wot4 IC or a Seagull 40 IC. Both sound very good and seem to perform well. Any advantages of one over other, performance, build, durability etc. Fed up with electric - back to IC.

Thanks Ken, that explains a lot - not that I know anything about the gear you mention. I was beginning to think there was something really obvious that I was missing!

Hi Guys, many thanks for the advice. I'll have another look at the tail as I did think it looked a bit fragile.

I have fallen heir to an old Long Cabin in reasonable condition. I have fitted a 40 two stroke (which I know is probably too much) but despite the weight of this engine the model is still tail heavy and needs a fair bit of lead up front. Any advice on c of g appreciated.

I am sure many will have heard this quote.
On a TV programme this morning celebrating the work of the plane delivery service operated during WW2 by female pilots, a veteran was asked "was it difficult to fly so many planes". Her one liner reply was "all we needed to know was the take off speed and the landing speed"!
If only it was that easy, clearly I need her help!

Booked a car through Auto Europe for a car from Goldcar in Bilbao Spain. When I picked up car told excess deposit would be 'ring fenced' on my card ie suspended against my account but not taken. After two weeks return car, car checked and I am told good to go, suspension on account will be lifted. On return checked my account to find full amount taken out of my account on the first day of the hire, ie gone not ringfenced, so I am paying interest on money taken! Contacted Goldcar and asked for refund. Refund arrived in my account £65 short. Told by Goldcar cost of currency exchange.
When I raised the issue with Autoeurope, as I had taken out excess cover insurance, I was told that Goldcar had added 'drop the keys in the box charge of 15 Euros (nonsense) and 15 Euros classed as 'other' charges, plus money change charge.
Charges shown as GBPs, not as Euros with exchange as in a restaurant charge.
If you check on the internet you will find similar stories including newspaper articles. Be careful if you use this company. Goldcar not interested in my complaint but Auto Europe refunding my loss.
I have hired cars all over the world and have never had such an experience.

Exceptional Service - Century UK
Posted 'faulty' ESC to Century UK at 17:00 hrs one day.
Next day Century phoned me before 10:00am to say agreed with fault and had reprogrammed ESC.
Next day ESC arrived back in post!

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.
Max Thrust Riot brand new (gift) but has been in it's box for 18 months. Assembled and all well everthing working with full throttle response. Maiden flight, just before lift off motor appeared to cut. Landed with no nose over.
On checking model throttle response now sporadic pulsing, and then nothing. Tried rebinding no change. Tried different motor same result. Changed everything except esc, ie receiver and motor, servos (althought all original servoes are fine).
Does this sound like a program fault ie esc needs reprogramming, if so not sure how, no instructions in box. Or is it simply a bad esc. Any advice welcomed. If new esc any recommendations on what to buy.

The future of the Nats.
I agree with the observations regarding taking the Nats forward. I attended this year and although it was a great day out the showline in particular was disappointing with nothing much new from my last two visits. Similarly, numbers seemed down, particularly campers and yes trade area look weary with prices more or less similar to other sources, although I appreciate this is a major issues for traders with such fierce onliline competetion. I have to travel a long way and doubt I will make the journey next year. On a plus note I had never seen a pulse jet in action and enjoyed the skill and daring of the competitors. At 200mph plus if I heard correctly just how fast has the guy in the middle got to turn. Great fun.

Re - Village Idiot. I do enjoy your posts. I once attended a Senior Manager's Conference where the key note speaker was introduced as coming from a very small village, so small they had to take turns being the village idiot. Fortunately the speaker had a great sense of humour!

What would I say, well.
It's not exactly rocket science to pack something simply and well at a reasonable cost. But when this example is multiplied a millions times over and adds to the pollution of the planet beyond recovery what will you say - ah but it was cheap?
I order a lot of things which are delivered by white van (not by choice) and despite it keeping drivers in a job, many express astonishment at the amount of packaging, in this instance the driver couldn't actually tell if there was anything in the package. On a positive side he doesn't use much fuel as he carries so much fresh air
I respect your view but can't agree.
