  1. Not exactly what we are used to here but it was designed in 1982 by Hanno Prettner so I guess that qualifies it. This one is going to be electric powered and ready for installation weighs 750gm. Instead of bare foam, film covered, I laminated the foam in the usual way with 1/16th balsa. I'll let you all know when test flights are done. Makes a change and a bit of fun.
  2. There will be a bit of a break as we are off on hols next week. Steve
  3. I did a swap for a number of engines and I'm using an OS 61RF. Replaced the bearings, cleaned it up in my ultrasonic cleaner and away we go. Matching it up to an Hatori long chamber pipe. With engine mount on, as you see it weighs 12 oz.
  4. Following on from the SF45 and with quite a bit of interest in me building the larger '60 size version, here we go with the prototype build. Initial stages of the fuselage construction, fuselage side with doublers, tail-plane doubler and stringer rear fuselage reinforcement. Sides joined with radio deck and formers keeping it straight. Note Rawlnuts for securing engine mount. Top alignment deck fitted, ensuring a straight fuselage. With this added, even before the bottom sheeting, the stiffness starts to increase. Underside view showing radio tray and rear fuselage stringers. Bottom rear fuselage sheet added, really resistant to twisting now.
  5. Great that you found the blogs section. Looking forward to this one Gary. Steve
  6. It's two slots above where this 'chat' section is.
  7. Hi Gary Bring it on mate, sounds good. Of course it's OK, Minty Morton electrified a Bullet and he attends UKCAA events with great success. If you do start a build blog, could you put it in the build blog section. Great to hear about it. Steve
  8. The pictures taken by Alan (club member) on Sunday, may now be viewed at **LINK** If anybody would like to purchase a copy of any photo then these are available from Alan at a cost of £5 incl. postage.
  9. Yes it is a Taurus and was built by Kelvin Petrie from Newcastle.
  10. Yes a superb day with lots of varied models from all three decades. There could be another in October again so watch these pages for an update. Thanks to all those who attended, supported the raffle and purchased stickers.
  11. Pilots attending will be directed where to park on the day. The club runs a 'peg on' system, even for 2.4GHz, just a peg with your name on will suffice. Don't forget, toast and marmalade at 10am, Barbie lit for your own food, plus free tea and coffee all day. C U there Steve BTW, test flew the Adagio today, well pleased.
  12. Thanks for the good wishes Martin. A 'do' further south would balance the books and widen the catchment of fliers.
  13. Hi Jim Used automotive base coat white and then fuel proofed it with automotive two-pack. Great finish and fuel proof, even up to 30% nitro, not that I will use anywhere near that. 12% Optifuel is what I use in all my engines in my Retro planes. Steve
  14. It will be a Fun Fly style Paul. Comps not allowed at Retford and most seem happy at the moment to enjoy get- togethers' and flying these classic models. It'll not stop some trying some schedules and that may get others enthused too try their hand.
  15. One further incentive is the fact that there will be toast and marmalade for participants at 10am!
  16. Hi Martyn I'll forward the zip file you sent me to Graham. Steve
  17. A new event for 2014. Beelsby MFC have kindly allowed us the use of their site on Sunday 26 July. Located near Grimsby, the site is 'L' shaped which is convenient for the placement of flight lines dependant on the prevailing wind direction. Please indicate if you are planning on attending. Just think, drop the wife and kids off at Cleethorpes and you come flying for the day, sorted! Regards Steve Edited By Steve Dunning on 04/05/2014 12:29:53
