  1. Looks good Brian, hopefully see you on the circuit. Steve
  2. A range of models covering the whole spectrum of the 3 decades involved would be good.
  3. I know that I have started another thread for events next year but this is a bit different. Paul Bardoe has provisionally booked us a stand to advertise the UKCAA at Weston Park. The whole idea relies on having enough bodies to both man the stand and allow people to have breaks as well for the two days. This does not mean committing yourself to two whole days, but if sufficient numbers are willing to 'do a bit' then we will have widespread exposure at probably one of the biggest shows on the circuit. If anyone is will to help, could you please make yourself known so that planning can go ahead. Half a day, full day, all weekend, it doesn't matter, just so that some thought can be put into it. Best regards to all for a good holiday Steve
  4. How often do we do that Bob? And it generally works out OK!
  5. Some events planned for 2015 have been given dates already. Obviously further details will be given nearer the time but this will give people food for thought if anyone is wanting to host an event. Seasons greetings to all. April 26 Sleap Airfield May Retford MFC June 13 (Sat) Skegness MFC September 27 Montford Bridge
  6. I agree with keeping this as our main forum, it would be a bit insulting to suddenly move everything over after the help we have received from David Ashby and the team. Duplicate by all means but I know this is the main area people look for what is going on with the UKCAA. Steve
  7. I don't know how many of you knew Terry but I remember him right from my early days of viewing F3A. Martin Mc let me know this sad news earlier this evening. I thought it appropriate to post it here. Steve     Hi Steve, Don`t know if my email to UKCAA got through but sadly Terry is no longer with us. The funeral is at Loughborough crematorium at 1445 on Monday next. I am sure that many of his former friends would wish to attend.   Martin Mc. Edited By Steve Dunning on 09/10/2014 22:07:40
  8. I did buy it but then the guy reported the high volume of interest but he told people that it was sold (to me). Another asked how much I had paid, Dave said the £55 he had asked for. The guy offered £155. Dave was at a loss. On ringing me I told him to accept the higher offer with my blessing. Dave said 'but I'm going back on a deal'. I replied that there was no problem and that he should go ahead. End of story. Let's face it, I have another Magic kit, with GRP fus that I can take a mould off so let the guy have the extra money. Steve
  9. Another good visit by the UKCAA, with superb weather once again. Thank you to all those who made the journey and to Shropshire MFC for allowing the visit with Paul Bardoe acting as club contact. The raffle raised £32 towards funds and thanks must go to the prize providers, namely Optifuel, John (Minty) Morton and Chris Bond (Bondaero). A further one may be held this autumn at short notice (3-4 days) at Retford so watch this space. Steve Edited By Steve Dunning on 28/09/2014 22:23:24
  10. Latest piccies illustrating that there's just a bit more to do before installation. Steve
  11. Just bringing this thread back to the fore as Sunday is coming up fast. Weather is looking OK and the club are looking forward to our visit. Just one point, no barbecue so you'll have to bring your own refreshments, no problem. Some different models due to be on show so come along and have a fly along with the usual banter that prevails at these meetings. Looking forward to it, I hope you all are too. Steve PS there will be a raffle with prizes sponsored by OPTIFUEL. Edited By Steve Dunning on 24/09/2014 09:39:42
  12. You know where I stand on 'build your own'. There's nothing to compare to the satisfaction of flying a model that you've constructed yourself. Steve
  13. I'll sort that out for you David. Jim, I have already done three kits of the 45 size, with orders for two more and plan to do the same for the 60 size. The construction features a 'lock together' type with a crutch to keep the fus straight during construction. Please PM me with your e-mail address. Note, I'm off on holiday Weds for a week so progress delayed a little more. Steve PS thanks for the comments.
  14. A bit more progress with the SF60. Fus completed, underbelly painted, just got remaining filming to do. Should be ready for Montford Bridge at the end of the month. Fus weighs just 1lb 3oz!
  15. Thanks to Sam Wragg, Stuart Foster, Minty Morton and Trevor Plumbe for turning up on the day. Fantastic flying weather and good atmosphere. Looking forward to Montford Bridge at the end of the month. Steve
  16. Looks like a lot of scale modellers are on holiday so could be plenty of flying to be had. Hopefully people can make it on Sunday. Steve
  17. Let's face it Sam, you need some airframes to put all those engines in LOL!
  18. Progress has been good and the model is now ready for finishing. With this one I've decided on a painted fus with filmed wing and tail. This decision has been made due to the weight achieved so far, 3lb 1oz!, including canopy, pilot and engine mount.
  19. Retford MFC are having a Scale Day on September 7th. We have been invited to go along as well. Any members can invite friends to join them for the day but they must produce their BMFA membership card before flying. Flying stats at 10AM till 5 PM Barbeque will be lit at 1230 to cook the food you have brought along, free tea and coffee available all day. I know it's relatively short notice but should be a good day out. Please use me as the contact for the day. Steve
