  1. Hi guys , its been a while since i was last logged in , but i have a bit of a rant ..... i think i have just purchased the Black Horse 60cc Corsair , i havent received it yet , but thought i'd download the manual and see whats what Now this artf has just cost me £750 from kings lynn models , and according to the manual it comes complete with ........ wait for it ......... CYNO HINGES !!!! I would have thought for an ARTF in this price range it would have been supplied with robart hinges , now i know its no big deal to change the hinges .... but really .... should i have to on a kit like this Not a very good start in my opinion
  2. Thanks for that martin I would not have thought to look there
  3. Only happens when engine is running and throttling up and down Steve , no contact with elevator stick on Tx
  4. Hi everyone its been a while since I posted anyways I'm having problems with my 30cc sbach , when I throttle up and down the elevator begins to act like mini ailerons .My RX is an AR12010 with two lipo rx packs through a powerbox switch . Serves on elevator are Hitec hs 645mg's .I have tried both servos in other channels with the same result , this is the second Rx , the first was replaced because of strange erratic behaviour in the air . I also replaced the two life Rx packs for lipos , and if I remember correctly I had no problems while the life packs were in , I changed them because they were around two years old I've checked the leads from the ignition module for chafing and bypassed the ignition cut out switch but problem is still there. Also my choke rod is metal running through a metal plate , just wondering if the choke rod vibrating in the metal support plate could cause it .i can't remember if I had installed the choke rod before or After the first Rx replacement
  5. i didnt post a link , and its ebay !! Wouldnt you think ebay would stop the selling of these items then ?
  6. sorted !! got it going , there was a short in the square junction box thats bolted onto the side of the motor , at some point in its life , the plastic terminal box melted , and the exposed metal screw connectors were shorting out on the side of the junction box casing
  7. what would constitute a non rcd socket
  8. thanks mike , heres a photo of the motor , would replacing the capacitor help ? is there a way of testing the cap to see if its causing the problem
  9. i've just bought an elecktra beckum hc 260m , but when i switch it on it immediately trips the rcd on the fuse panel it trips the switch to the right of the one marked rcd with the yellow rectangle above it the guy i bought it off says i need a bigger breaker ?? it was working in his garage
  10. i've got a Hegner Multicut , as i'm into intarsia , very nice bit of kit
  11. yeah not sure how the increased rpm comes about in the video tbh , but JE did state on the phone to me that a drop in power is to be expected ....... strange
  12. ok i phoned JE and theres nothing that can be done with the power loss , its a trade off between power and noise reduction when i say power loss , the only place where it is very noticable is in a vertical climb , it will still climb vertically but will run out of steam and begin to fall back , as opposed to it disappearing out of sight with the stock can having said that , if you are looking for an exhaust to significantly reduce the noise then this one does exactly that , it totally eradicates that annoying crack so evident of a petrol engine
  13. yep i will do , i'll give them a call today
  14. stu , its pretty good as a silencer , i havent had a decibel meter on it so cant give you specifics , but it has certainly eliminated that load crack thats associated with petrol engines to be honest it really doesnt sound much louder than a nitro
  15. i bought one of these exhaust system £85 from je , after watching a video of a 26cc petrol engine performing with this exhaust on JE website my sbach 30cc before installing this exhaust would climb vertical out of sight , but now runs out of steam while climbing vertical and falls backwards , the exhaust has twin baffles inside , and does a good job at quietening down the engine , but with a very noticable loss in performance , yet in the video they claim the engine on test had increased rpm with the same exhaust i'm just wondering if anyone else has tried one of these systems , and if so what did they experience with it its looking like i'm going to have to go back to a stock exhaust deflector (cant really call it a muffler/exhaust) to regain the power i have lost seems a waste of £85
  16. no mark you certainly are not one of the grumpy old men , and i appreciate all the help and advice you have given me over the past year , we'll have to meet up sometime and get a few flights in . Hows Lee doing Mark ? Has the car , beer , and girlfriend totally taken over now lol ? Edited By john melia 1 on 29/06/2015 22:38:35
  17. i have no intentions whatsoever of getting involved in petty club politics , theres too much in life to worry about , all i want is to fly , have a laugh , and go home satisfied with my model intact .
  18. when i first opened this post , i didnt mean young young uns , i should have said 20 to 30 year olds , a lot of the clubs i have been in are run by OLD and sometimes GRUMPY men , who seemed to be worried about nothing more than how many are going to attend the next meeting , which to be perfectly honest is mostly a complete waste of time , and normally just trawls over the same old subjects . These same people are rarely seen at the field , and when they are , they talk club politics behind their windbreaks while sipping hot tea from their flasks . All this is a total put off to the "young uns", these clubs need brought up to date , a committee (for want of a better word) with its finger on the pulse of todays technology , move with the times , embrace the new blood when it does appear , and dont scowl because they can do things in a matter of weeks what some can only dream of . I've even heard comments such as " an aeroplane should not be flown like that " "its not natural " from a few old club members while watching a guy flying 3D along with the slow shake of their heads No wonder this hobby is slowly dying , ....... and again i reiterate .... not ALL clubs are like that , and as my opening post says , its what i have experienced , so can only comment on what i've seen first hand
  19. out of all these replies , how many posts are actually from youngsters i wonder (apart from me of course ), ...... one ? Says it all really doesnt it Edited By john melia 1 on 23/06/2015 10:10:23
  20. what i have noticed from the young uns that happen to pass when i am flying with a few others , is the fact they are all attracted to the fast moving , aerobatic/3d models , they just do not seem to be interested in gliders , warbirds, or high wing flying shoe boxes
  21. no i'm not ben !! dont know what made craig say that
  22. dunno about anyone elses opinions , but i think this hobby is stagnating , too many oldies and not enough youngies if you get my drift. Over the past year and a bit i have been a member of four different clubs , and each one seems to be the same , ie , turn up at the field and more times than not its old timers setting up deck chairs and wind breaks , bringing a model that rarely sees any airtime , while they congregate and basically moan , about club politics , and shake their heads at anyone who can fly more than a flat circuit. No wonder the young ones steer clear , and no wonder a lot of clubs are struggling to keep/find members . just my basic observations , from a personal standpoint , be interesting to hear what others opinions and observations are  what say you ???
