  1. I have a Seagull EPioneer, leccy of course. I saw an almost identical model, IC, at a club nearby but didn't get chance to find out what it was. My last IC had a Mills .75.! I would like to have a play around with an IC and I do like the way the Seagull is put together and performs. So can you tell me what I need please guys? I just mean the model and engine, I know about flight box etc. What plane and engine?

  2. Petrol mate, or get a mains one and spend more time faffing with the spool and cord than actually cutting. My petrol is 7 years old, never been serviced, gets put / thrown into the workshop over winter and starts first pull every time. It was a cheapie last minute buy at the Norfolk Show. I had an electric one, OK for trimming for about 2 minutes, until the cord breaks inside the spool again!

  3. And just in case anyone is interested, Winged Commander has moved into a large aviary with the Budgies! But seriously grounded, his port undercarriage is permanently retracted which makes even hopping around interesting for it, and port wing has faulty ailerons and flaps. But it has survived and looks as if it will continue to do so.

  4. If it wasn't for these and Da Vinci we wouldn't be flying anything. And I shoot regularly, then eat what I have shot, pigeon is very tasty. This is a dove, not really edible, but they fly brilliantly .

  5. No matter where you live, even completely out in the middle of nowhere like I do, there is always a 'Richard Edward' somewhere close by. I have about 25 doves as well as my ones I have to build for myself. Someone thinks it's fun to take pot shots at the babes as they first leave the nest. Very manly! This one got hit through the wing into the chest, normally that is it me old matey. But after 4 days this fighter pilot is refusing to crash and burn, eating and drinking well, I fight just as hard for their survival as they do, normally in vain, but it is so nice to have a 'so far' good story. It will never fly again but I have an aviary where it can live out the rest of it's dayside safety. Makes you wonder where some people heads are though doesn't it !!image.jpg

  6. Sorry TWS I've just trawled through one of my Spit reference books, most common colour in wheel wells and for fittings etc. is that weird cockpit green. I think there must have been a job lot during the war, silver just tends to look far too new.

  7. But of course this is the one I have changed the retracts, oh dear. Complete with possible new pilot. As I've said I started to strip it down last night. BUT! I am waiting for TWS to maiden and report before I do dihedral and flaps, so it may get put to one side for a day or two.

  8. I find it hard to accept how many of these trying to sell models with engines state 'I know nothing about this/these things, or, I am selling on behalf of someone else',....really! The vast majority of people selling model planes on EBay know nothing about them, where do they get them from then?

  9. There was a thread a couple of months ago regarding filler, can't find the thread now but...Red Devil One Time was recommended, so I got some off t'internet.

I finally used it on my Dynam Spit rebuild last night. Top recommendation, this stuff is superb. So light it feels like the tub is empty. It has the consistency of mousse, spreads so easy, if you use it carefully you really do not need to sand! I don't need any more just at the moment, but I am going to get some anyway, best filler I have ever used.

By the way 'Bounce' filler got a good review in the mag, so I bought a tub.....and threw it away after 4 or 5 totally failed attempts to repair a dink in a foam wing, the stuff just fell off, sorry but I was as unimpressed as you can get!

    Give Red Devil a try.

  10. Started on mine, demolished it. Sorry TWS but those awful little bobbles you spent time scraping off with a scalpel blade....came off in seconds with a flat needle (warding) file, smooth as a babies smooth part ready for paint. I did both wings in an hour!

  11. Question for Colin the Spitfire 'guru', the underwing radiators, on the genuine article do they have a grill to stop unwanted ingress? I have some left over very fine mesh from a car fibreglass repair kit and it would look great if fitted.

  12. Thanks for the info on the decals guys. I was moving other part finished projects to one side ready to start the Spit...then I put my back out last night moving furniture. I think it's just muscular but I am certainly not very mobile today so it's painkillers, hot water bottle nailed to my back and the most comfy chair I can find for a while! Just tropical that is.
