Tony Nijhuis' new Vulcan
Martin Rowe 1 replied to Tony Nijhuis's topic in Tony Nijhuis plan builders
I have to say, I am not surprised. on mine I have a cone for a thrust tube, this is not good for a turbine. I also wonder how much area the air intake is compared to two fans. Did you do your thrust test with the tubes in place? You could try smoothing the edges out on the inlet and see if that helps. Edited By Martin Rowe 1 on 17/11/2014 20:27:19 -

I'm new to this modelling thing. I am building the Vulcan from last month. I also want to build this months. It was a great read it help me find my way into the rc world thanks -
I have just bought one of these second hand but new. i am flying it with 6s 4000. It was marvellously. I had two issues one retract leg snapped when landing on grass, no biggy but not great. Also I was expecting more power. I have a carbon z cub that has loads of power I am thinking of reproducing that set up?

Martin M thanks for the answers. I have seen those hinges. I can't help the feeling they should be more complex! What at undercarriage is that? Could you send me a link to it? If I read what your are suggesting I should invested in a m2 die? I like the idea of making them up as you need to. I am not sure how I feel about flying it when finished. I think,I,will find the best pilot possible for the maiden. -

Hi i have some beginner Q's if thats ok? This is my first ever building and am finding getting the bits together a challenge What hinges are best and where to buy? what servo covers would you recommend? Where can I find good quality servo push rods and track rod ends? where can I get some mat NATO green covering film? What makes are good? I skinned one wing today, I a bit surprised how simular the top and bottom wing profile is. It's good fun though, I can see why people get hooked on building. I,am finding very relaxing. Listening to a E book as I go. thanks in advance -

Hi colin ye mine where 54.5mm. I got them in but I compounded the issue by building up the engine bearers before the fans arrived. I got them in but it's not pretty. on another subject how do you get the oval shape for the plastic tube to exit, don't say do it free hand! I have have bad arthritis at the old age of 36 and my hands are a bit digital. -

Thank you that awesome. Progress has been slow, this week. I was also caught out by the diameter of the edf units mine were a fair bit bigger than the cnc holes. -

So how much progress have people made? This is my first ever build! i have made up the body as far as I can until my fans arrive, about 4 hours work is that about right? -
I owe a lot to,the army cadet force, they taught me so much. I traveled like you and competed for England under 18 full bore shoting. i never joined up at 18 as I promised my mum I would not. It's changed me though. My discipline is good and I can't stand dirty shoes

Hi tony ordered one of your kits and the vac parts came today. I have been talking to,Colin about your kit and he helping me on my way. i have been looking at fans could I use the 50mm mad thrust motor on hobby king? It's 4s, that suits me as I have some. Would I need twin bats? My flting spot is grass and it's all about the power! http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__47917__Dr_Mad_Thrust_50mm_10_Blade_Alloy_EDF_3300kv_UK_Warehouse_.html -

Hi guys i have just bought one of these,I have been learning on a st discover so this is big step some questions if that's ok? How much down elevator are you running with flaps? The stock value seems really hi? also both my flap surfaces are level but some what higher than the wing. Should I trip it in?
