Hi geoffrey all depends on how true you want to make I guess ! . What "Mk" is yours as that narrows it down a lot !! some early mk's were half black and half white down the middle ,some duck egg blue, or sea grey, got any pics

Thanks guys for all your responses I'm off to unitracts in the morning as they make a set for the Brian Taylor spit !!! I've heard they take a while nowadays cheers all .......... mark
Geoffrey do you have the web address of yours ???? -
Hi all thanks guys for your replys as I've never used a dedicated retract servo I wasn't sure of there advantage !! you have all made good points cheers .one more from the daft question dept , would I need one servo per wheel ??? as in Dannys pic/vid ta very much ...... mark

Hello Danny lm glad you answerd first your straight to the point thats exactly what l thought the servo setup you have is simple cheers lve got some in mind l can use
cheers again ......mark -
Hi all whilst I'm building my spitfire wing I'm now looking to install the retracts . I'm building the Brian Taylor 69" off the plan and using unitracts mechanical units , but what is the benefit of using a dedicated retract servo which isn't proportional against say a normal one which is any views on this would be great
Cheers ....... Mark -
Hi to all ....
I know I said lm not flying anymore but I could not resist one more build so .... lve had this Brian Taylor 69" wing span kit so I thought why not anyway the retracts I've got are not suitable so they are up for sale to anyone who wants them they are in the classifieds -

Hi all
Hi Ben nice looking spit you have there
To answer your question .... your spit ,looking at the serial
number puts it as a Mk11a from 71 eagle SQD which flew out of North Weald in Essex cheers ..........markoEdited By Marko on 08/08/2011 23:30:40

hi all .............nice build pics,,,,,,, whilst the issue of the double sided plans is being sorted .l think ive spotted another missing part in Peters build pics , it clearly shows there being 8 formers but on the mag plan there is only 7 / F2 with the rectangle cut out (in pics ) isnt there ,do you think it might show up on the wing plans !!!ps is there going to be a cnc kit for this and if so how £££cheers..................................marko

Hi Douglas ring the Balsa Cabin they have some in stock (Copys of course) but very nice indeed

Hi Dean if you look at the back of your engine that's where the needle valve would be with this set up , the blanking cap on the carb is there because the needle has been moved to the rear of the engine ,the feulmpipes seem to be attached to something ? your pics a bit dark so can not see what you have .
Some people like the needle valve at the rear as it's keeps yer pinkies out of harms way !!!
Hope I've helped. marko -
Hi all ...... I ordered a genesis pipe from just engines on Friday then got a phone call from Paul on Sat to confirm my order ,is my engine 2st or 4st l confirmed it was a 75 2st job done , today l had a call from Jenny to say that they are out of stock and would l like to wait until it is in stock .Jenny then offered me a manifold and pipe for the same price which l excepted . Now .... for a company that is upside down in moving down south ( long overdue ) a bit more east wouldnt have gone a miss ! I think that's very good service so l would like to thank just engines for possibly being one of the better shops out there !!!

Hi doug would that not depend on the three variables ........
weight
Drag
and thrust
give us some more info in which plane you have got , high wing , low wing . what type of plane , pics are nice
so as for your question any tank will give you ten mins of flight time , but it could be a question of " how do you want to fly"???
marko -
Hi Danny can you give us a plan view of those smoke stacks ? something is bugging me , not sure what it is yet
well you did ask !!
marko -
Hi Danny the bulges are coming on maybe yours could be griffin powered instead, they were bigger add more smoke stacks and a pointy rudder ha ha
The cnc parts came from Traplet !!

hi Danny well l bought the BT cnc pack there's not much in the way of fuzz parts once you take out the formers and lm not sure what I've got left go,s where ? Odd shaped parts , nothing numbered , as for the resin we use only west at work and for my needs it's free
............. Marko
-
Hi Danny that is cheep l personally wouldn't use SP as l can get west from work
I've now started my build on my spit and started with the tail end first but l can't add any pics yet , lm offline on the main computer . The centre section on the BT wing is different to mine so l will have to make some changes but I'm not expecting that to change the incidence , what do you think , can two designs mate together
.................'marko -
Hi Danny looking great . I'm looking at your tins of resin it clearly says west systems but you are referring to it as SP ?
as for your pumps , the data sheet says tomremove the pumps if your not going to use the resin for sometime as air could pass back down the tube into the tin and then the resin will thicken but that willmtake some time , the most that will
happen whilst your building is the nozzle tip will get a little bit snotty !
nice build ........ marko -
Oh ha ha one simple spelling mistake and you all over it
damn rats
............ marko -
hi Danny your not leaving the peel ply on are you ??? lm not sure about the Finish would be any better than the cloth you are going to yes to skin with ! lm only going to be using the BT 69.5 wings, and the aft end parts only ,and l will have to mate it to the glass fuzz , it's going to be the mk1 b which as there is only 1 left in the world it's a nice fitting tribute that it will fly again
............... Marko
Ps l will do a build blog with pics -
hi Danny that looks so good , l bought the BT cnc kit in the end so much better than I could do ! I hope to start mine soon . you mentioned using peel ply ? the force needed to remove it might pull the balsa fibres apart under the glass skin !if you pul it l to soon whilst it's still green it hasn't done it's job of soaking up the access resin , can you not just dab with kitchen roll . l only say this as I wouldnt want to see you get this far and it go wrong , if you still want to have a go I've got some you can have !!!
