  1. The St Bruno circuit.

I think that given the circuit values the device is a simple audio amplifier. The gain would be in the order of 10 and I think that the 1mV refers to the input level.

This circuit may be the Audio Frequency (AF) amplier following the receiver detector circuit, as 1mV would be the sort of signal level that one would expect from a Rx detector output.

The audio frequency signal content could be pulse but more likely to be tone. This may be an audio amplier stage driving a tone reed bank. The channels were separated in the model by transmitting different audio tones that caused a corresponding reed to oscillate in the reed bank. Each of these reeds could be used to output a signal to an actuator causing the deflection of a control surface. By selecting the different preselected tones at the transmitter one could control which actuators were energised and therefore which control surfaces were operated.

The main problem with the reed tone system was that the reeds which were mechanically excited when the correct tone was applied to them, required to be continually ajusted for oscillating frequency. This would require the reeds to be re-ajusted for the reception of each control tone every time the model was flown. Of course with viabration in the model the reeds could go off tune, resulting in that channel not operating.

We dont know how easy that we have it these days. Radio equipment, since proportional control has been available, has largely been a fit and forget. Not so back in the pioneering days.
  2. Hi Peter

The charger is a chinese copy of the Bantam range of chargers. If yo go to the Bantam web site you can download the instruction manual for the software. link :-http://www.bantamtek.com/Manual/estation%20manual-english.pdf.

Also just browse the instruction manuals for the range of chargers under the support pages and you will be enlightened.

     Regards

    Mick

  3. I think that pay per mile is a great idea. Why are all these vehicles on the raod all day long anyway. Too many wasted so called business trips when a phone call or video conference would have surficed. If they want to get out of the office the charge them. We are currently the ones not doing a lot of miles that continually pay taxes to build new roads and maintain the old to allow the high milers to operate.

    MAKE THEM PAY
  4. Just purchased the RC Power 601BC from BRC hobbies. The BC version is the same spec as the AD and looks exactly the same but in addition Balance Charges Lipo cells whilst charging. The BC version is a much more sophisticated charger than the AD version and even better, the price from BRC hobbies is the same as the AD at £69.99.
