Hi There. New member here. I have bought the HK Firstar/Raptor V2 2000 which I understand shares wings & tail feathers with the Phoenix. In other forums folk talk about the Raptor tip stalling easily yet I don't see any mention of that here. I bought the plane as an intro to FPV & intend to fly it with a simple camera to start with. Any comments on the tip stalling thing?

Sorry to be a bore but does anyone have anything to say about this? It does seem to be a recurring theme on another forum but not mentioned here. Maybe someone could give me the Leading edge -LE dims & normal AU flying weight of the phoenix so I can compare it with my Raptor before I maiden it. Any help would be appreciated .

Flying with others in a club is much better than flying alone!

You need to upload photos to your album first. Then select the camera symbol to insert into your posting.

Fair enough kc but not easy to join a club here in rural France. There is a club not far from me but they didn't seem to interested in me & flew mode 1 on top of a usually very windy hill. I find mode 2 more intuitive being closer to the real thing so I thought I'd teach myself then then go & join 'em. I have a mate here & we have access to enormous areas of fields to fly over.

I'm still trying to get my head around photo posting

  4. Hello. I'm a new member here & thought I'd say hello. I'm a 69 year old novice & have been flying for about 2 years. I fly electric & so far have bought all Hobbyking stuff for convenience. I have my own field of about 3 hectares . I'm self taught with a Phoenix sim & have all 3 planes I started out with so the sim approach worked for me. I use the planes to take aerial photos & vids & have recently bought a HK Firstar 2000 to try to get into FPV. This site is a great resource for novices like me. Here are my planes

  5. I'm a 3rd year novice flyer & was flying my Bixler on Hoy, Orkney, when visiting my Brother in Law. He'd had a couple of hours on my sim. & was champing at the bit to 'have a go' with the real thing so up went the 'Vicsler', called that for obvious reasons & he flew her around. The point of this post is to show that some people are obviously "gifted" as he managed two landings, one down a track with barbed wire & sheep fence each side another 1m from an irrigation pond, both despite there being the whole of Hoy at his disposal to set her down. He said that I with my my 3 years experience couldn't land with such skill & he was quite obviously a natural ! Who am I to argue with him ?
