the book was published in 1993 maybe jlc didnt know the vulcan would be obsolete /scrapped .then .but it must have been edited the f 22 is also on the list.

Hi Karl,i built one of these years ago i gave it to a club member who converted it to electric it fly well ,(we are an all electric club).John.
-
Piers post says it all really but he types faster than me .
-
the authorities are not interested in stopping people who break the rules ,their only interest is blaming everyone else when some one gets caught . The mobile phone use in cars is a farce as is the drone use by irresponsible flyers, but i think most of them do know that there are rules any way ,most of the videos posted are breaking the rule s but they are still posted.with no comment s about the legality of them .banning people from flying large untested models will not stop people doing that either.rant over .

i would agree with Matty B try flying on a less windy day poss with a slope soarer trainer type then fly your Zaggi on any given day, flying wings can fly in just about any wind i always take a big wing called franky (frankenstien) in big winds it is very good and always repairable john
-
Best of luck James ,a few pointers when you first fly would be good most of our members dont have a certs some do and some have b, s we do plan to have certs this years at least permission to fly solo .everybody can do that .john

Hi James, one of my friends taught himself to fly waiting till everyone had gone home from the club before flying he kept a log of the damage he did to his planes and repairs costs ect ,he is a great flyer now and used to solo a lot of my planes ,he once told me it took a long time and was very expensive to do .one of his flying buddies came to the club with his plane set up totally different to the conventional way .flew really well and could not understand why we flew with the planes set up normally ie ali channel 1 ele ch 2 ect. changed his plane to normal and just flew it .so it can be done .you cannot tell people that how to fly ! john

Gordon Brown is my hero fitting a clutch by the side of the road while the wife waits four hours ! strangely reminds me of a friend who would probably done the same thing ,but he is still married( we often wonder how.)

more like f 22,s nobody seemed to mention them
-
my wing is smaller than the plan( as is Steves,).I hope to fly it on sunday if the forcast is correct, and not too windy
i dont fancy a first flight in conditions like last week. sorry to read about your plane Steve.

after seeing Steve Mclarens Gnat build i decided to build one too, blue foam side pods glassed are about the only difference .Steve provided the canopy for me ,waiting for pilots and decals, more film to do yet .filmed over glass as P .G s TORNADO Blog works very well.
-
Hi Steve,Could i ask you what your pilots are ,i have trawled the net looking for suitable pilots , i am at that stage in the build.i cut my canopy to the shape /size and it fits perfectly to my fuz thanks again John.
-
Hi,Steve, your gnat is a very good looking machine ,nice scheme to i have just ordered the plan ,i think i will be doing a red arrows gnat ,i am that age group, i would like to buy a canopy from you if that is possible
thanks john.

Great looking fuz Peter cant wait to see the finished article ,i was curious about the balsa nose till i saw your pictures ,i built a pss viggen some time ago the same lost foam method ,but with a seperate nose moulded in f/g and screwed on so i could replace it if needed.john
-
well they do say a picture is worth ect hope you get it to fly now ,let us know how you get on John.
-
Thanks very much Alan .John.

Hi Dan,put your plane nose down on the kitchen scales and run your fan you can read the thrust you are getting from your fan /motor wait a few secs till the thrust is stable i always do this with /edf models they do fly well with less than one to one thrust /weight when the get airborne a good launch is essential and not easy to do your self with your radio in your other hand .john.

got my rcme specail today quite suprised by the d/f version 4 50mm fans .i have flown a chris golds small hunter on a 3s fan on saturday and it was gutless to say the least very dissapointed with the performance, and thinking of the 4s to replace it hopefully four fans are better as T N says in an early post ,John

Hello John, why would you want to run your glow plug continually ?the norm is to start your engine then the fuel keeps the glow plug alight for the whole flight, there are devices to light your glow plug in flight but i have never needed one and have flown in all weathers ( Not rain ) or have i missed something john.

nobody seems to have said but you can dye the canopy with dylon clothes dye it used to be quite popular best to try it on another canopy first to get the shade /darkness and colour you want without spoiling your canopy .john
