  1. Hi, I;ve got one of the (e-bay) SAPAC Red Arrows BAE Hawk's and have broken and lost a small section of the aileron. This is made out of white foam - can anyone offer me any help on where I can purchased a very small piece to allow me to carve and repair ? How difficult is this to carve / shape ? Any assistance would be gratefully received. Kind regards, Rob.
  2. Hi, I'm presently looking towards my next model - a large'ish scale Hawk (possibly Colchester A1 Models / AMD / JHH ?) and am wondering about options other than turbines ! Can anyone recommend an engine / ducted fan set up that I can take a further look at ? Please be warned I'm a complete novice here so thanks in anticipation of your assistance! Many thanks, Rob
  3. Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone maybe able to please help me out ? I'm desperate to get my hands on an old issue of RCM&E magazine, as follows: RCM&E - June 2001 This needs to be fully intact / complete with plans etc... I live in Norfolk and I am able to collect, in person, from anywhere in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or North Essex - is there anyone out there who can please, please help me out ? Please note I've already tried RCM&E / Magicalia and they can't help me with this one ! Many thanks and kind regards, Rob.
  4. Hi everyone - can you all please tell me how long did it take YOU to achieve the BMFA A Certificate status - I'm interested to see the variation in just how long this may (or may not) take me ? Thanks, Rob
  5. Hi Danny and thanks for sharing your experiences with me / us all. Very interesting. As you'd expect I aleday have the 'freebie' FMS simulator and have had a 'dabble' with this and it has certainly helped - although I must confess I seem to loose my orientation and am unsure where to re-locate / approach the runways ! Can you recommend another simulator or are they all pretty much like for like 'ish ? Thanks again, Rob.
  6. Hi Phil, yep point taken and I can see the logic. The first thing I was taught was 'sfety first' so this makes perfect sense. Thanks, Rob
  7. This looks a nice plane Shaun - I'll take a further look. Cheers mate. Rob
  8. Hi Ian and thanks for taking the time to reply - if you can help with this I'd be so, so grateful. Thanks, Rob. PS Where are you as I may even be able to collect, in person ?
  9. Hi Alistair and thanks for all your supplied information - this is very, very useful. I had tried HobbyStorers website, yesterday, but I couldn't find the plans / canopies that I thought would be on there ! This Pyramid model website may even help me out with a large'ish Red Arrows Hawk 'retoration' project I'm also working on as I need all the decals that I can locate for this and wasn't sure where to start ! Thanks again. Rob
  10. My club insist on supervision until we pass our A certificate, David. I thought this was a BMFA insurance policy / pre-requisite ? The problem for me is, its a small club, and theres very rarely anyone there. I have a great instructor but I have to respect that he has a life away from the airfield as well. Very frustrating for any keen newcomers I'm sure you'd agree !
  11. Hi again David, this has been a superb series and as I took the hobby up after this series began I was quick to buy back issues so I could read all the articles. my only critisism is that July's issue has taken a break so roll on August's now ! Rob
  12. Thanks for your kind offer David but one of your colleagues (Eileen) is already on the case and kindly already agreed to do this for me. Maybe I'm being silly but I'd still like to get my hands on the original magazine, anyway, if Im possibly can. For information I'm looking fo the "Tucano" article & build plan. Kind regards, Rob
  13. Hi, Can anyone please share their BMFA "A Certificate" experiences with me ? I'm curently a novice and this rc game is already proving far harder than I expected ! Also my 10 year old son is learning so any tips for him (or both of us !)would be gratefully received ! Finally how long did it take you to achieve this A Certificate status - I'm interested to see the variation in just how long this may (or may not) take me /us ? I'm already a member of a great BMFA affiliated club with a top instuctor BUT my work / lifestyle limits my flying time pretty much to half a day at weekends (weather permitting !) ! Thanks.

  16. Hi Allan and thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm pleased to say I've literally just managed to lay my hands on a copy of RCM & E March 2004 so we can forget about that one. Moving onto the June 2001 edition I haven't yet been quite so lucky. This edition has an article (and possibly a plan) that I'd like to locate - this is for a "Tucano" plane. If you can help I'd be really grateful. Thanks again Allan. Rob B.
  17. Thanks David, I've now tried them and I'll see what they can do for me ? In the meantime if anyone can help PLEASE get in touch - I am prepared tp pay, by the way - just in case this wasn't too clear in my last thread. Rob
