  1. I'm getting confused on batteries. I now have a battery in my Tx (unknown V(7.2V?)), a 4.8V for my Rx & servos, an old 7.6V NiCad, and a new 8.4V NiMh. Will one charger cope with all this?
  2. Hi all, I have an old 7.6V, 1000mAh, Ni-Cad battery that came with its own little plug-in charger. I've just bought a new 8.4V, 3000mAh NiMh battery. It didn't occur to me that it might need a different charger (only a Noobie, sorry). So, three questions. 1. Can I use my existing charger? I guess that'll only charge it to 7.6V? But will it do any harm? 2. Am I supposed to get any specific type of charger (if I buy none) because it's a NiMh battery? 3.Any recommendations on which charger to get (ie 240V or 12 V?)? Martyn
  3. Good, friendly advice. Thanks all. Just been given a cheap, 2nd hand, OS 46. From what you've been saying it sounds like a good first engine. I'll save my money until I know what I'm doing. Martyn
  4. Can someone clarify something for me. Why do these sims need to come with a cable? Isn't the point of r/c modeling that it's 'Radio Controlled' ! Why don't they just have a radio receiver that plugs in to a USB port. Maybe I've just invented something ! :-) Martyn
  5. Some sims come supplied with a (cheap looking) t/x. As a newbie I think I'd prefer one that uses my own t/x so that I get used to using it. It ought to be cheaper with less stuff supplied, just software and a cable! Martyn
  6. Another newbie here. Thinking of buying my first powered plane. The kit recommends an Evolution Power Trainer 2 stroke engine. Am I right in thinking that the 2 strokes are the loud whining screaming engines? Do the 4 stroke engines sound more like proper engines. Martyn
