  1. Rich: I've completed the rotor blades but still have to cover with film. Here are the weights and measures: Blade #1 - 37 gms; 530 mm length end to bolt centerline - 530.4 mm. Blade #2 - 36 gms; 530.75 mm. Blade #3 - 36 gms; 530.0 mm. The spanwise C of G of the three blades is within 6 mm. I checked the balance of the three combinations and all are almost perfect - just slightly down on one side. When I assemble the rotor with the Coolwind head, one blade (#3) always ends up DOWN. So my lightest and shortest blade behaves like the heaviest. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  2. Rich: I finally found your recommended servos online - had to buy from China. I cannot find the Turnigy motor you suggested anywhere. Which would be the better choice? E-flite Park 480 or E-flite Power 10? Both are heavier than the Turnigy. The Park 480 develops 275 watts, the Power 10 375 watts. Which would you recommend? Thanks. Gene

  3. I built the Woodpecker three years ago but only got to maiden fly last week. It is rock solid in the air! It does take a firm launch to get going but once up to speed flies very well. The only change I made was substituting the 12 x 5 prop with a 12 x 8.

  4. I just completed the Woodpecker but have to install the battery. I'm looking for a battery tray to facilitate positioning. The plans were excellent but could have used more advance battery positioning information. Gene Graber, USA. I purchase the magazine at Barnes and Noble every month.
