  1. Ferguson 22"! We will be talking Radio Rentals next & not the cockney riming slang. lol
  2. Thanks, Gary. Any upgrades worth doing with the EV100's. IE: better ariels or are they fine as is.?
  3. Thanks, everyone. I see Fatshark do corrective lenses to fit their goggles at around £17 a set of four different strengths but only for anyone who wares glasses all the time, & not for us with reading glasses. As i am on a budget, i might purchase a VR headset for about £20 for my phone as i have an e-machine ROTG01 receiver & try this as a test & possibly go on to an Eachine EV100 headset. I know its a few years old, but for the price, it’s worth it. Its hard to find a good set within a budget. They seem to go from £80 to nearly £200 for the ones with a good review & not so much in between. I might even be adapting some old glass yet.
  4. Hi, has anyone experienced FPV goggles & reading glasses. I was looking to get some but wasn't sure if I need my glasses with goggles I am not to bad in that my glasses are only 2.0 by 2.5 & only need them for reading. "Old eyes" any inside would be helpful.
  5. Hi, looking for any recommendations for a viewing screen for an FPV. Now headsets are by far the easy route but was looking for something so a few can view. Is there a certain type I would be looking for when in sunlight is out. I notice that some couriers now days have screens that you use to sign for a parcel show up brilliantly in direct sunlight. & wasn't sure if there was a name for these screens? Thanks.
  6. Posted by Steve J on 24/04/2020 10:40:56: I have a 8GB SD card in my DX9 for collecting telemetry. If you have problems with an SD card, it is worth downloading the formatter from the SD Association. Ah! What aq handy tool.
  7. Maybe it's the reason the DX takes/removes the updates off the card because if the card was left in, it would see the firmware file on the next startup & try and try to update again thinking it was new.
  8. Another strange thing I noticed was the download had the same file name for the 6 & 8. So I updated the 8 & moved onto the 6e & nothing happened "strange" So I put the card back in the computer & noticed the file was not there any more. So, it doesn't copy the file, it transfers it completely. I also noticed it took about 3 times to load onto the 6e & seemed to have hiccups when looking for the file. But we got there in the end & all is fine.
  9. Ah! no problem. Wasn't sure if this would transfer with the data or not, or if I did something wrong. Will rebind the others now. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the input guys. Was looking for something a little bigger than an indoor one & 250/300 mm is about right with FPV that will work with a DX6 e or 8e. But i am not always lucky with buying secondhand gear. & end up having to spend more to get one working. But still looking. 11. Hi, just had a firmware update & a clear out of my DX8e & reinstall & bound the models for a fresh start. I also have a DX6e so transferred/copied from the Dx8e via SD card to the DX6e. But noticed i had to re-bind all the planes on the DX6e. Is this normal?? & would it not be transferred the bind info via the SD card. It was just a curiosity to see if something was wrong & that was the norm. Thanks
  12. Any recommendations of an fpv drone/quad that will work with a DX6e. Was just after a cheapish one to basically play with & try out. "£100 max."Or even a better quality secondhand one. Thanks
  13. Got the new program card to day. Took 2 mins to read the instructions & another 2 mins to program all 4 ESC's. It will give you a loud 1 second bleep to say it has excepted the new parameters & a long 7 second bleep if failed. Thank goodness, i only got the 1 second version. lol Did my one using the planes battery & the Bec/throttle lead.
  14. Good idea, but i use the images for other sites & for my own web pages, plus, its a good back up. So it keeps things simple for my usage. Don't think model flying would appreciate me linking images from this site to other sites Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 20/04/2020 13:10:44
  15. Laugh! i only wanted to have the motor break on. I should of just used the RX way of doing things.
  16. Have been using this site to store my many photos & to help link to forum posts & a general back up of images. Very simple to use & Free to use, like the image below. Post Image   Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 20/04/2020 09:00:03
  17. On the Mantis range, they all look very similar . On the photos below, i know one is a ESC & the other just a BEC, but look just after the mantis logo & it has the word slim written. I think the slim version is also a bit less on its programing ability's. But is also quite a bit cheaper. But you can see how easy it is to mix them up across the Mantis range. Saying all this as a bit of a pain, many have given good reviews on these ESC. .
  18. Just a PS: Piers, you was spot on with the wattage estimate. Went up to 209 watts & stabled out at 203 watts on full power & that was with a battery not fully charged. Thanks again.
  19. Thanks everyone. Will do some do some testing on the 3 cells in the next day or so & i have a watt meter & i am hoping to get a pair of pull weighing scales in the post tomorrow to see what sort of pull it has as well. Will try not to pull the tail off, lol.
  20. Hi Dickw. Thanks for getting back. Oh! thanks everyone. The motor that would of come with it is a Volantex 2216 1400KV Brushless The motor i have is a RoHS Racestar BR2814-1400kv. using a 8x4 pusher prop I found spec on the racestar i want to use, but not the Volantex. 8" would be the largest prop i could use being a pusher type plane. & all will fit ok. Motor & prop. Model KV (rpm/V) Voltage (V) Prop Load Current (A) Pull (g) Power (W) Efficiency (g/W) BR2814 1400 11.1 9x6 47.5 1950 522 3.7 14.8 8x5 58.0 2300 858 2.7 Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 19/04/2020 11:57:44 Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 19/04/2020 11:58:47
  21. Hi, picked up a cheap secondhand Ranger 2000 foamy & the recommended motor is a 2215 1400KV. I have a spare 2814/ 1400kv Will this be ok & would it be more powerfully or too powerfully. Would be nice if there was a comparison chart about that was simple to see this sort of thing. Thanks
  22. Adrian, we are not the only ones to fall for this, but very misleading from ZWT. I have ordered one off ebay & see how we go. I will post back here when it arrives & i have tested it. Its not the money, more the wasted time on wondering what was wrong. The only shame is there is less configurations with the card than the digital version. We will see when it arrives. Post has still been good, even with everything going on.
  23. Ah! i have been told the problem with very misleading info from ZWT that makes them. They make the Mantis range & also a Mantis slim rage that look very, very much like each other. The programer above only works in the Mantis range. For the Mantis slim range you have to use the ZWT Beatles card, as below.. Now reading their advertising you would assume the Mantis digital programing card would do all the Mantis range. But, no. "Go figure."   Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 18/04/2020 19:04:26 Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 18/04/2020 19:05:19
  24. I am now looking at comments on line with this item & quite a few have had similar problems.to what i am getting. I am going to send both back to wheelspin & see if they have the same problem & maybe they can send one that works.
