  1. This is the first installament of a build diary on the PILOT models "Extra 10". BOX: Very long, thin and blue with a small description. KIT CONTENTS: This kit comes with few hardware parts, ie: it is missing wheels and a fuel tank, but does have a pair of spats, cowling and Canopy. On with the building! The plan sheet/instructions say to use Cyanoacrylate throughout the build. Whilst the this is very strong, it bonds very fast in heat so there is an obvious lack of working time. The fuselage sides have LEFT and RIGHT lasered into them so you can't make two left fuselages. The ply formers go in quite well, and so do the balsa ones. Unfortunately, when bending the fuselage, the back three formers snapped, so my Dad cleverly reinforced them and re-made some. The Firewall and mount have offset built into them so that is OK. The other ply former uses triangular pieces to keep the gear straight when it is added. Marcus
  2. Where has my thread gone? This went into the blogs and now it has vanished. I cant find it anywhere. I can only find it when I do a specific search.

  5. BUMP! I have purchased the Extra. What should I cover it with?
  6. What prop would an OS26 4 stroke require, and would it be suitable? There is a nice one on Ebay.
  7. I may not put up a build diary, depends what permission I get from my parents.
  8. I have bought the Extra, and an OS15
  9. My Dad had an Airfix Sunderland, and that is why we have the plans
  10. Well, I've bought it, and I'll put up pictures and maybe a build diary if you want.
  11. I have plans for a 63" Mosquito, and I am not sure what engines to put in. It was flown on Merco 35's (the original) but I think that a pair 52 four strokes would be good. My Dad is looking at OS 91s, but I don't know.
  12. On E-Bay I found plans for a 136" Sunderland flying boat. Yes folks, 136". You did hear me right. And I'm only just learning to fly......
  13. Thanks Alistair! Im off to the model shop tomorrow so I will add the prop to my shopping list! If (WHEN!) I get the kit, I'll start a picture thread for you if you want. I still can't decide though..... CAP 232 or Su31 ? (The hard work I make myself do!) I prefer the Su31, but only just.
  14. I have decided to purchase a PILOT models aerobatics plane. http://www.sloughrc.com/pages/Products/Aircraft/SRCM-AircraftScale_Pilot.asp Im still undecided between the Sukhoi and the CAP...... Anyway, what engine should I use? I know it says .10 but I have seen ads for aerobatic 48" with a 46 class. Im thinking a 15. Or a 30 size four stroke. Anyone know where I can get a cheap one? Marcus
  15. Im only considering, but I do not understand the speed 400/500/480 and speed controller/battery setups. Its all very confusing! And thanks for offering to help! Marcus
  16. Who will be building the new Eze-Fan? I'm going to build one, but as I've only just started power, can anyone help me with all the electric terms?
  17. I found a nice plan on E-Bay. Designed for all working gubbins. 63" span, and prototype was powered by 2 Merco 35s. Timesing by 1.5, this means mine will have a pair of SC 52s
