  1. I believe I remember seeing the Ridge Runt in a really old edition of Silent Flight but I can't remember if it was a review or a plan. Possibly one avenue worth exploring...
  2. Ours tends to have a majority of ic, with a few electrics dotted around. A couple of the members are electric only. Personally, whilst I like the idea of electric, the cost of having enough batteries to get a days flying is too much for me. With a bottle of fuel, all of my planes can be flown all day at a cheaper cost.
  3. Personally I would get a new kit and keep the fuselage as a spare. That way, if the worst happens, you'll have a spare fuselage to get you flying again quickly. This is assuming that the price of the wing is close to the price of the whole kit.
  4. Hi Bob, After cutting up a few plastic bottles and getting nowhere, I brought the canopy from RCM&E. I'm covering mine in LiteSpan which is about half covered now. The race is on to get it finished before Sunday, althrough, I can guarantee that if I do, it will be a bad flying weather day :-)
  5. I'm currently building the RCME free plan (I believe it was the March issue) designed by Tony Nyhuis (sorry Tony, I think I've spelt your name wrong) which is almost complete. I saw one that had already been built at my flying field yesterday and it flew great. My only concern is that the one I saw flying had a 15cc engine in it and was flying around at a reasonable speed at half throttle. Mine, like the plan, has a 25cc so could posssibly do scale speeds with ease :-) You could probably convert the plans if you wanted to make it EDF or something althrough in the air the propellors not noticable. Shame the jet engine noise can't be reproduced....
  6. Hi Tom, In regards to the forum, one thing that bugs me is that whilst the initial forum category page shows you which folders have new entries, when you go back to the category page after looking at one of these entries, the New symbols have disappeared. Thankfully this is not the case in the category pages themselves.
  7. Don't forget to put the receiver (and the foam surrounding it) inside a plastic bag, I use sandwich bags myself, to protect it if any fuel leaks.
  8. I must admit that personally, I would rather have a plane with a non-transparent canopy than a pilotless one. If the manufacturers of ARTF's don't want to put pilots into their planes, that's their choice, but why can't they leave the canopy off to make it easy for those of us who want to add a pilot.
  9. Hi Bob, What exactly do you do with Works for the club? The reason for asking is that my local golf club used a spreadsheet for maintaining their membership which I converted into a easy to use (in theory at least :-) ) program using visual basic. Chris
  10. Hi Tony, I got the book as a free gift when subscribing to RCME and I must admit that I am very tempted to make the Micro-T one of my future projects. Out of interest, where did you get the tail boom from? Good luck with the build, please let us know how it flies!!! Chris
