  11. Come and fly my Bigbird and you'll see I reckon   Lee @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  12. Acacia 2 , set up right though , A bigbird is fun only 2.5M , Tragi 702 if you can find one , Or NYX again a little smaller than 3m but still a move on from the luna   Lee @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  13. When I started out on the slope I wasn't aware of any clubs in the area , I only went to long mynd because a non-flying mate said it might be good , After some investigation I found out about the LMSA , I would have just continued flying on my own on the hills around my house , So there might well be a whole bunch of pilots that we will never bump into ?   Lee @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  14. Cheers Dave , Gona try and make a better one tomorrow weather permitting   Lee @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);

  17. I used both up on my Sonic ( french aerobat ) it was a 2.5m glass and foam/obishi wing , I found it easy to land but then I never tried the other way . Ask Andy E he knows Lee @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  18. There was no way I could see that the loom could be a fixed type on Matthews Luna , at the end of the day you only put it together at the start of the day , stick a big batt in there and fly it all day to make it worth while lol. If you do manage to do a fixed type I would like to see a pic as I said it looked like way too much hassle to me . Lee P.S. I made the loom for matthews sotailored it to suit the layout I wanted . @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  19. I am fairly sure the CoG was spot on for now ( It prob can go back but won't need to )  The CoG will move slightly forward when it has some lead in there , Thats not a bad thing though   Fly the hell out of it and fettle as you go , you will soon have it how you really want it , Whens the next model coming ?   Lee ( who still wants to fly a jart )   @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  20. Mounts in and loom  Control horn covers on once the whole lot was rigged up . Lead for the nose   This was made by pushing the nose into damp sand then pouring the lead in the indent, cleaned up with a file . Then CoG is found by adding or removing lead from the front .   Now I know there is loads missing from this but it will give a few clue's on a few things . As I said at the start if you have any questions please do ask If Alex is/has read this could you please put one of your Luna flying pics on here just to sort of finish it off   Cheers   Lee  @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  21. Next .................. The wing , there is only a few because I forgot to take the pictures As always tape first Control horn added and marked out .  Then skin removed Servo hole taped up and ready for mounts , Due to the surface being glued too there is no need to sand inside the wing skin , some models would need sanding though And what's going inside Note the above was roughed up with sand paper before it was installed . Epoxy does the job just make sure you protect the servo with something like clingfilm , then install   More in a mo   Lee  @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  22. Rudder plans were to have a ball joint , like all the others were doing ...........BUT it wasn't going to work so I switched back to the norm    note its taped up and the control rod is held whilst the arm is drying   Next the wiring loom ( these pictures are not in order lol ) I like to keep the live and neutral far away from each other as a rule  Note the wing side of the loom has a short and a long wire , flap and ail     @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  23. Ballast is a funny thing , You should find it just holds its speed more and will do things a little quicker , Don't be scared of it , Just a little to start before you know it you'll be filling her up all the time   Lee
  24. The ballast tube was installed using a wrap of glass cloth wetted out so that once installed the cloth would conform to the bottom of the fuse , Some pulling proved it stuck well in . The tube was also glued at the nose end .  Due to Matthew using 2.4 part of the rx was positioned and hot glue tacked to the fuse at the nose/fuse join. this meant the wires would be multi directional .   Next the ballast was made    20mm shower tube cut into lengths ( can't remember the length ) Then taped up Then placed into damp sand ready for lead to be poured in.    Lead was then chopped up ready to be melted The lead is then poured in , fill them in one go each , if the lead cools and then you top it up it wont fill properly You should end up with this     you can neaten it up with a file if it isnt quire right . More later   lee  @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  25. Sorry above it should state that the servos are mounted using a ply support underneath, Just ply scraps will do   Next the nose was roughed up inside the tail side of the fuse and the connecting part of the nose , This is to ensure the bond is good. Fuse was then taped down ( kitchen table no honest it just looks like that ) The fuse and the nose are check to make sure they are level and true , also the hight at the front of the nose to make sure it is square . looking pretty with all the tape removed   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
