  1. Well I started this thread a long time ago and as you can see from the pciture my Acrowot - "Whispering Louise" - is completed and was maidened in May of this year. The build was pretty much as per the instructions save for glass reinfircement internally in the forward fuselage and lit ply doublers to strengthen the mid fuselage.   I fitted an OS 55AX and she flies superbly so my aerobatics are progressing apace. I have retrofitted a 2.4GHz Rx (Futaba) and a carbon fibre u/c from carbon copies. The tail wheel is steerable through connection to the rudder - I did buy a carbon copies' carbon fibre tail skid to replace this but haven't got around to fittiing it. With care take offs are staright even from our club's rutted grass field!   I have had one prang due to an engine failure / dead stick just after take off at abobut 30 feet but the repair went well and it looks as good as new.   I would definitely recommend this model to anyone who is looking to move on from basic flying to more advanced routines. Maybe I will eventually invest in an Extrawot....but right now I am waiting to maiden a Flight Power Katana also fitted with an OS55AX! (See below) Thanks to all who have contirbuted and good luck!   Jon Laughton
  2. I am about to  start building an Acrowot for flying in the spring. Any tips and helpful commets / photos etc would be most gratefully received as would suggested colour schemes......thanks! I will post photos etc as I go along
  3. It's got to happen some time hasn't it? I mean before I go to the big r/c hangar in the sky?
  4. I hang the bigger models from the roof; I made U shaped metal brackets and lined them with foam - the actual size / shape of such brackets depends on the model. The brackets are connected to large (exterior grade) screw hooks in the ceiling by washing line made off with metal rings.
  5. Shaun  I store wings suspended from the roof  rafters on soft rubber electrical flex - works a treat. I guess the real issue is that none of us ever have enough room - we all start off ok then fill it up; it's one of the joys of the hobby! Keep posting the photos so that we can see progress  Jon
