  1. Me 2 mate thinking of a belt cp i've seen a nice scale fuse for them and the lights for my bell47 (see my album) are on their way from brentford rc centre they've custom made them. good set of lads down there
  2. ok so i prob only do 3 batteries about 5 or 6 times a week also always let it cool well between flights but mostly put the longevity of the motors down to maintenance but 3 sets how long you had it all i've replaced is rotors countless times and canopy twice oh and secured the servos a little better the old tape failed wen warm well hot actually. that caused controll issues an a few  words
  3. Keep trying mate I've still got all this to come. done this a few times with fixed wing though never easy but oh the learning curve
  4. Hi all I have a small electric trainer the (west wings beguine) its auw is just under 800grms wing span 1050mm and chord 150mm so wing loading is circia .5grms/sqcm  and I'm running a dualsky "XM PR.25" and a 1320mAh 15c 3s xpower lipo from dualsky esc is one of their 40A jobs with an 8x4 apc prop it pulls 110w cicia 65w/lb my prob is that any larger prop prob won't have enough ground clearence (see photos in my album "my electric hack") can i get more watts out of it by increasing the pitch. it does fly in this configuration but i feel a little more would give it better authourity
  5. Not my experience Vinnie i've got the original bell 47 had it for nearly 2 years now flying ast least 6 times a week and it still pops off the floor straight into the most stable hover literally hands off however i do lubricate the motors every now and again with a very light oil designed for electric motors and generally keep it dust free
  6. oops my mistake  lets hope they can

  9. Hiya people just a quick one on the yaw pot on the bell 47/medivac if its maxed it might also be that the link connecting the fly bar to the top rotor is set wrong by experimenting with the length it is poss to ajust the amount of yaw trim required. move with caution though doesn't need much.
  10. http://www.tech-mp.com/twinn_rexx.htm the above link is to a site that details the developement of a tandem rotor set of mechanics that gives real potential to all scale fans that fancy a tandem heli. the prices seem to be reasonable to.
  11. Being a mere puppy at 52 i was only 5 in 61 and didn't get bitten by the model flying bug for some 5 years amazes me how much things had advanced by then although the free flight scene seems to have been much the same
