  1. Hi All, I am looking for information about a foam wing cutting jig that I made in late 1980's or maybe early 90's It consisted of two 2" x 2" rails with 12" strips of contiplas screwed to the rails with a gap between to slot a plywood former into. as i remember there was a top ply former and a bottom former which you changed without taking the foam core off the jig. I think it was featured in RCME but i am not sure I probably could reinvent the jig from memory but would prefer to copy the original (it will save time and energy)
  2. just in case my email did not arrive i would like the plan please email me for my address [email protected] regards Peter

  6. Hi Joe You made an incidence jig. that sounds like wot i aut to do. do you have a drawing or instructions on how?  I am into building a biplane and will need to check the wings I was going to level the fuz then using a tape try to eyeball the incidence Biggles
  7. Hi Joe I see your post is quite old BUT  Did you manage to work out how to set the incidence for your bip. i am building a Bullfrog from a RCM&E plan and need to check that the wing incidence is correct when it's finnished.  some years ago i built a Pirrouette bip and somhow get the incidence wrong it took two very experienced flyers to work out what was wrong with the handiling it was flying like a 3 leged cammel with artheritus! the upper wing was 0 deg and the lower was somthing like 5 deg neg so a big wedge under the trailing edge put it right. so if you do not have an incidence meter how is it set up????? kindest regards Biggles
  8. Hi all thank you for your input I have now placed my order with a model shop in Norwich they were very helpful  I had ordered my wood from another supplier but after two weeks I still had no wood or contact regarding non delivery Evan though they advertise as next day delivery.  But I will give the Balsa cabin a ring for my next order I used them regularly back in 1970/80 did not know that they were still trading. well have a good Xmas and happy building. regards Cpt Biggles
  9. well the heading says it all where do you buy your Balsa? do you get a good deal? do you get good delivery times? Is there a shortage of Balsa and has ARTF killed the stocks that suppliers keep, I have had a lot of trouble trying to get Balsa. If like me you live in a remote location how do you get the wood for your next model.
  10. Hi John thank you for replying there is a particular plane that i would like to download and that is the ultimate biplane plans from http://www.john-tom.com/html/MyRCaircraft.html i have tried two programs but i cannot remember which ones. all have now been removed from my laptop so i cannot tell which they were. suggestions are welcome (clean suggestions that is)  sorry my information looks amateurish but i do not have a clue about CAD programs or what i could do with them  just had a look in my download files and there is one program left in there it is emachineshop free cad but it still will not work with the DWG file. regards Cpt B
  11. Hi All I have been looking on the net for model plans and have located loads of plans but they are all in  CAD programs I have tried to download two or three free CAD programs but as yet not got one to work. i am not looking for a program to use to draw just to download the CAD drawn plans so to pay for a program would be a waist of my modeling funds.  all suggestions will be welcome Regards Cpt B
  12. Hi Again forgot to say disolve dye in hot water but let it go cold before use  Cpt B
  13. Hi way back in time I used Dylon to tint perspex that i was using as chess men it worked very well BUT your canopy needs to be very very clean also use a wetting agent ie: washing up liquid in the dye (just a drop or two) would advise wearing gloves not to protect your delicate hands but so there are no fingerprints left on the plastic Regards Cpt Biggles
  14. HI Whistler, no not as yet the plans dep say that it should be in the files but cannot find it. Thay need a plan code to help locate it. I now have a photo copy of the artical  from the Jan 1991 mag but there is no indication of the plan code in it. so i am still looking for a mag with the plan in there is a photo of my pirouette in my folder. kind regards Cpt Biggles
  15. Hi Again Thank you both for the information I will give the phone numbers a ring on Monday David there is no trace on the web site for the Pirouette plan so i will use the phone and talk to someone. I have posted a pic of my bi-plane not the best angel but the only pic of my bip that I can find. The change of name in the heading was the nickname that I had back in the 70's - 90's  in Nottingham when I was a member of the Trent MFC. I think I will start useing it again. Thank both you again for the information regards Cpt Biggles

  17. Hi All this is my first post I am looking for a plan that was free in a mag I am not sure which mag or when but it must have been about 1995 "ish" It was for a biplane called the pirouette I built it and used to fly it on a 56 four stroke the plan was not particular accurate but finished plane was pretty and a good fly-er. I would like the plan and the mag or information the name of the mag? month? year? would pay a reasonable charge and cover all costs if you have a plan please share it with me Thank you all for reading this post biggles
