 Building a Herr Enginering kit of a rubber powered Fokker D-VII. Want to convert to electric power and R/C    Has anyone done this? What motor and servoes? Plan to use a Berg RX.  I think it will be a little on the hot side based on wing area to weight.  Thanks for the help.

Timbo, Never did a profile before. In fact this has been the first forum I have taken part in. Normaly just send E-mails to family or shop at R/C hot deals and bphobbies. Have also been reading a lot about Kline-Fogelman airfoils. Love strange airplanes so have been visiting a site called twitt. Lots about tailess airplanes there. It there a place I can click that will help set profile? Thanks. Looking at what others post I saw a mention that people should say where they are located.  Sorry about that. I live across the river from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA.  I tried to send a picture of the SE-5. Don't know if it made it. Also will be glad to pay the postage if I win a prize draw since it so far.

Hi Timbo, Would have like to use an outrunner but I am retired and have to recycle what I can. Good news is that the SE-5 flies swell. It even took off from the grass. Since it is electric and makes little noise I can fly at a soccer feild near my house without bothering anybody. The grass is not the best but it took off in about 5feet. I always get knocking knees when I test a new one. Was doing fine but was trying not to hurt it and flubbed it on landing, flipped and broke tail feathers. Easy fix but I am still excited about first flight.  Hope for nice weather Friday.

 hi, Timbo it is fair to get involved and since I have been flying models since 1956 there is a lot I would put my two cents worth in. maybe even a nickles worth. I started with C/L and am now into building with foam. Just finished building an SE-5 from Peter Rake plans. going to test fly tomorrow. only problem is I didn't have a geared 400 so I put in a geared 480 that I had. after all you don't have to use all the power you have. I sure like to know to use this smart box better so I could show pictures of how it came out. first time I put all the markings on a plane. might turn out to be a scale builder after all. usually build them and try to do things they can't do rusulting  in some kindling wood.

   hi. didn't know I was going to be in a forum thing. just wanted a chance on a free plane. building models is easy but this computer stuff is hard for me. I have been trying for a 1/2 hour to figure out how to see a reply I had to my entry but still not there. just a computer dummy, I guess.

 Love the magazine. I collect plans and it is great when they are free in a magazine.
