  1. Hi all, Just come across this thread and panicked, I'd run out of balsaloc. Now I did have some Screwfix No Nonsense PVA . Well on trying it 50 50 mix with water that was a no go. Mixing with a little water so that it's not too gooey worked after leaving it to go tacky or very nearly dry. Obviously not all PVA's are the same.

  2. Hi John, you've obviously missed seeing mine at the field. I've got 3 of the 10gx mk1 type without the pump. I much prefer them to my glows, rain, snow, blow hot or cold they just run. 20:1 mix just like my mates 4 stroke petrol saito.
  3. Hi William, sorry to hear about your woes, I've got 2 evo10gx's that use exhaust pressure and had no problems. I use the original supplied tubing in the tank because it keeps flexible and from the tank to exhaust and its never melted. I wonder if this was mistakenly shipped with the wrong tubing. I believe the correct stuff is VITON part number EVOA104 which doesn't go hard like tygon and will take the heat from the exhaust.

  4. Trebor, I have the latest Irvine's and certainly the 46 and 53 have imperial at one end of the crank and metric at the other . Even model fixings qoute in metric tho ie. 9.525mm this is actually 3/8in. If it doesn't measure whole mm then 10 to 1 its an imperial bearing.

  5. Erfolg, I've always been with BT and had no problems, perhaps I've been lucky. I think when things go wrong they can all be bad. The only thing I would say is deal with a firm that has onshore fault reporting if you can find one and that doesn't guarantee anything even then, sorry to be so cynical.

  6. Hi, Buffy Mines powered by an emax2812 145w motor using 1300mah 3s lipos it's more than ample to power it. I covered mine in litespan if you do a search in the keyword box for matador you'll see at least mine and Chris Botts build blogs. I increased the rudder size a little and would also recommend increasing the elevator size by a small amount. I needed down and right thrust plus 20grammes of lead in the nose. I found litespan a pig to use and if I ever recover her it will be in solartex dispite it's weight. Good luck.

  7. Steve, I've also got a EVO 10GX and thought about fitting an OS petrol glow plug but on getting a mate of mine to take his out of his engine I found that they are much longer than a standard glowplug, I don't know how this compares with the small spark plugs on the EVO 10 length wise.

  8. Hi Spikey, well Plusnet I think are based in Sheffield so whether it's sales or repairs you'll get someone who understands English and I believe they are also the only ones to do 6mth contracts so you wouldn't be locked in for long. BT may do you a better deal if you agree to sign up for a longer term ie 18mths. Just checked, no 6mth contracts mentioned now but I notice if you go for there fibre broadband they supply you with a BT router then again they are a independent subsidiary of BT. Someone here may be along who's dealt with them first hand.

  9. Hi Spikey I'm on BT internet adsl and get 10meg download speed, I'm 1.4km cable length from the exchange cos I checked before I left the company, fibre to the cabinet is great but you are still reliant on 1. Your cable from the cabinet is in good nick and not very far. 2. It's best if that cable is copper to the DP (pole) mine isn't it's aluminium but only about 80 metres. I wouldn't be happy with less than 8meg and you certainly need that if you do watch HD. The other thing to remember although you may not need it fibre to the cabinet gives you a far greater upload speed that ADSL cannot achieve. My upload is about 0.7meg but that's good enough for me. Other than speed the other thing to watchout for is the download limit, are they offering you unlimited , BT tried talking me into FTTC saying it was £1 cheaper than my existing, it was but it had a download limit of 20GB whereas I'm on unlimited at present.

  10. Engine doctor, as regards regional differences I don't know that wasnt explained but it gets worse, apparently Murco also do a ethanol free fuel but if it is delivered by Jet which my local Murco station does then it contains ethanol. I contacted both Murco and BP but did not get a reply as regards which fuel / depots supply ethanol free fuel. So for the present I can only rely on Esso. Regards Lee

  11. Jon, Re petrol attacking carbs and other fittings this could be due to the EU insisting ethanol is added to our petrol currently 5%. I recently contacted Esso, BP and Murco. So far only Esso have replied and this was the response

    Dear Mr Damms,

Thank you for contacting Esso Customer Care.

The majority of unleaded 95 Octane petrol sold in the UK contains 5% ethanol as required under the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO).

There is currently no requirement for renewable fuel (such as ethanol) to be present in super unleaded (97 grade petrol). Esso super unleaded petrol (Esso Energy Supreme) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the Teesside area and Scotland) and we have no current intention to add ethanol to Esso Energy Supreme in other areas of the UK.

We would therefore advise anyone who has concerns about the presence of ethanol in petrol to use Esso Energy Supreme – providing they do not fill up in Devon or Cornwall, the Teesside area or Scotland

  12. Warning if using FRSKY receivers and you use a mix of high speed digital and analogue servo's don't select high speed on the RX or your analogue servo's will get hot or burn out. This is on the FRSKY receiver instructions.

    Regards Lee

  13. I have a Futaba 14sg currently using the provided NIMH battery and the low voltage alarm setting recommended is 5.6v the manual also states if using a 2 cell LiFe battery the low voltage alarm should be set to 6.0v. When the voltage drops to 3.9v the transmitter turns off.

    Regards Lee
