Thanks for the prompt Bruce.
Gent's this is beginning to stray over the mark. Can we all steer back towards the topic please before we decide to delete every post that isn't about model aircraft kits.

Ken, if you look at the list of members on line at any time (via "browse") there's always a very healthy number of folk looking in.
A good number of those are shown as "guests". i.e. they are not logged in.
It could well be that some or even most of those are previous members just browsing.
If/when they have something to contribute, I'm sure they will log in. If they're having trouble doing that, they only have to use "contact us" below.
Is there anyone in particular that you have a concern about?

All should now be fixed Ken. It may be worth checking your notification settings again though. Click the bell and then Notification settings. Then go through them methodically choosing what you wish.

Another vote for the ender3 pro here.
If I was buying now it would be the V2 with its extra features.

If you click the bell and then notification settings, you can then open up the "Followed Content" section and make all these choices:-
The top checkbox gives you notifications for threads you started. The next one for threads you've contributed to.
Then you can choose how often and how soon to get the notifications and finally whether they are just on site ones (the bell) or emails or both.

Ever since moving to Horus with the nice big colour screen I've done virtually all my programming on the Tx.
So using Ethos, which from what I've seen is not dissimilar to OpenTx but has a much more up to date and smartphone like feel, doesn't worry me at all.
Are there any signs of being able to take model backups and being able to move them between transmitters? (Not least to have a backup Tx and to use that feature of ACCESS).
A conversion between OpenTx and Ethos files sounds impossible, but that would be a killer app if it could ever be done.

Looks great and early reports of ergonomics are very good too.
But like you, I'll not be an early adopter.
Let others iron out the wrinkles and if Ethos eventually gets glowing reports then maybe, I'll have a look.

OK yep I see that. So what is SAFE doing in intermediate mode? It is still maintaining straight and level below 50ft? If so then the only way to reduce height is by reducing throttle? Isn't it?

I don't know the model but that sounds a good description of one of the first things an instructor would teach a pupil.
That contrary to what you'd think, elevator controls aircraft speed and throttle controls height.
OK that's very simplified, but to explain, think of it like riding a bike. Pulling up elevator is like going up a hill, you'll slow down. As lift is related to speed, you'll not only slow down but you'll get less lift so won't climb as much as you'd think, maybe not at all.
Putting in down elevator increases your speed and lift. The faster you go, the less likely you are to dive.
Using throttle though, cut that and any slowing down will reduce lift and you'll start losing altitude.
It's a control interaction that you'll need to get used to.

It looks like I should think to search the forum more often.
Here's a suggestion that I made back in 2018 that might fit the bill.
Rather than a weather station, to decide whether the weather is up to flying, would we want to know any more than we could glean from a webcam shot that includes a windsock or flag?

Sounds like regular still pics are the way to go and to shutdown out of hours too.

If a club required a solar powered weather station and a couple of cameras - as an add on to an existing website. Where would you start?
I'm thinking maybe a 4G router, possibly wired rather than WiFi, a couple of IP cameras and some sort of off the shelf weather station that regularly sends data back to a weather service.
Can all this be done from 12V using a solar panel and battery?. If so, at what sort of power consumption?
Does your club have anything?

That sounds like the best advice so far. To add a BT Sport app to a device you already have.
If you're already using a firestick successfully, that suggests that WiFi signal strength is fine at this location.

I have a BT TV recorder box in my hall cupboard. From there HDMI is split using an HDMI splitter box, to 3 rooms. But this requires long HDMI cables. Infra red remote is relayed back to the BT box via the HDMI cables using little add in boxes at each end.
Complicated, it works, but only one channel can be watched in all 3 rooms at one time.
So, to watch BT sport in another room while the BT box is tuned to a different channel. I use a £30 Chromecast plugged into a another HDMI on the TV. On my Android phone I have the BT Sport App. This, along with many other phone apps like iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube etc, will "cast' to the Chromecast. i.e. they will direct the Chromecast unit to connect to the web and stream the BT channel direct to the TV. This works really well. (As previously stated it does require a decent WiFi signal where the Chromecast is situated)
