  1. So you've seen some testing going on.

It seems that we already have the option to resize photos.

If you upload some and do nothing they all appear in the default size etc.

If you want them in a particular place in your post the leave the cursor in that position and click the + sign in the upload thumbnail.

If you then wish to alter the picture properties (size etc) double click the pic and you'll see the options.

    Have a play.

PS - There may be a way to change what the default setting is. We'll be investigating.

  2. Hi Upkeep and welcome to the forum.

Lots of help here, any questions just ask.

You mention already flying the cub. That begs a few questions at this time. It's best we make sure you know of your obligations.

Some strict rules have been introduced quite recently by the authorities. Do you know about Operator IDs and competency tests etc?

None of these are at all difficult but will keep you on the right side of the law.

Insurance is also very highly recommended and not expensive.

I think the point being made is that the old forum didn't display what you was doing with your images in real time on an open activity log which was viewable by non members, you had to log in then go to albums to view any new uploads. As it is now a member could upload a few images which include their wife, young son or daughter and decide later that they'd rather not have them showing on the net with the risk of being lifted and added to some deviants "Private" gallery to be shared amongst their sickening and illegal groups. Taking away those extra steps increases that risk.

I'm acutely conscious of this and take obsessive care if uploading images to anywhere on the net.

I think you're making up facts to fit your argument Mr McCavity. Pop over to the Model Engineer forum. Go to any thread and chose any poster. Click on his "photos" link and you're straight in to see all his albums. No need to be logged in. It ever was thus on our old version too.

If you're in the habit of uploading photos of family that you don't want anyone else to see, you're on the wrong forum.

  4. There is a subtle difference in behaviour Ron. The default scheme is fixed width while the darker one has dynamic width which fills out higher resolution screens better. It's all a bit of a compromise in order to try to suit as many users using as many types of devices as possible.

  5. To find your digital copies (assuming you have a subscription):-

This may not be available on the mobile version of the site.

Note: We effectively have two websites. This Forum one and the RCM&E magazine one. Logging in to each site is separate.

    1. Go to the magazine site by clicking RCM&E Home  image.png.ae6437711446d1e5b78bdb7cc527fa04.png   (Or right click and choose "open in a new tab" to leave this page open too).
    2. Use the Login box over on that site to log in image.png.5928c77985426fb2c131e0848c925b4d.png (Note: most people are getting in using their forum name rather than their email address, and it is case sensitive).
    3. Now here's the tricky bit. You need to hover over the word Subscribe, you'll then see this dropdown. image.png.acc1507860f799810810d8bfc7ab9ed6.png
    4. Choose Digital archive to see the magazines.

  6. At the huge risk of 10 members giving us 11 different opinions, we've managed to get a second, slightly tweaked colour scheme up and running.

Hopefully this will address issues for some folk who find the default scheme a bit bright on the eyes etc.

To give it a try, scroll right down to the bottom of the screen. Alongside the Privacy Policy you'll see a Theme selection button.

Very little has been tweaked. See what you think.

  7. Following.

It will be interesting to see the latest state of play.

I guess you need to decide whether you wish redundancy of power supply, redundancy of receivers or both.

One question to try to find the answer to:-

I think I've seen that at least some of FrSky's redundancy system relies on detection of lost frames in the S.Bus signal to decide whether to change over, but that the latest ACCST version 'beautifies' the lost frame figures to such an extent that no lost frames are ever reported. Sorry to be vague, but it is an area to be careful in.

  8. Digital issues are available. Possibly only in the desktop version of the site, yet. Click on "RCM&E Home" (underneath the RCM&E logo)

That takes you to the magazine home page, where you'll have to log in separately. Please try your exact user name from the forum. (Or alternatively your email address if user name doesn't work).

Once logged in, the digital mags are available in the dropdown from the subscriptions link. (Rather than clicking to go to the subscriptions site)

Yes - Chris Bott found the option earlier.

    We aim to please!

I think the majority are finding things reasonably straightforward now but we're listening to constructive suggestions and trying to find solutions and enhancements.

I said we should open a book on who would notice first ?

  10. Dickw, I know it's not an answer, but if your missing pics still appear in the threads, could you take a screen snip from those and make a new album to keep them in?

Or, actually, if they are in the threads, does it matter?
