  1. Looking good Barry, any chance of a vid of the doors in action?. I'm struggling with pulleys and other things.
  2. Thanks Danny, appreciate that. Just spoke to Barry and he sais the same thing. So basically the plane will be nose heavy on take off and landing but balanced in flight. I will require lead upfront for sure now, how much though is hard to tell at the minit. Not long now. Cheers again.
  3. Oh I forgot, Barry if your up giz a shout on this matter. Cheers.
  4. Thanks Danny, Appreciate it. Wheels up sounds like it makes sense. I'll wait for your info to come through, thanks Danny. Craig.
  5. Sorry for late reply Danny, yeah the question occurred to me at the field today. I did think of it previously but as it's nearing completion it's more of a worry. It doesn't say about it on the plan, but then why would it, Brian Taylors retracts were alot lighter than the unitracts ones. I'll have a look at other builders ones as well, do you talk to John ranson Danny, he's got a lecci one. Its a worry as you say about landing and taking off. I appreciate the help Danny, thanks, Craig.
  6. Thanks very much Danny, it's a little way off yet but I would never abandon it after putting so much time, effort and money in to it. I'm surprised to hear that people do lol. The CofG is a little off, approx 1" 1/2 to the rear. It's a little tail heavy, has two batteries in the front as well. However I have to glue two more exhaust shrouds on, the other retract doors + open and closing mechanisms, and two air scoops, as well as glow extensions. Hopefully this will help, if not I'll have to bore some holes on the inside of the nose and fill then with molten lead. Danny I have a question though, should I be taking the CofG with the undercarriage extended or raised?, as this does make a difference. Cheers for the compliments Danny. Cheers, Craig.
  7. Well I thought id post a couple more pics before returning to work. Im nearly there now, I took it to the club patch today for some well deserved fresh air. Couldent run the engines though as the fuz isnt finished and still needs fuel proofing (much to everyones disapointment, you wouldent belive how many people were egging me on to fly the thing lol). I thought I would show the near solution to my exhaust problem first. This one has had the 90% manifold drilled and tapped for the back pressure nipple, the nipple is in the right location opposed to its brother one which was drilled in the wrong side (cheers dad, lol, he done a good job of it though and it least he didnt snap the tap like I did). I actually painted the end of the last manifold which helps it blend into the wing, doesent show really unless you look for it. Here you can see its very snug to the engine, when i get back next Ill post pics of the engines in the nacelles. And here the one faceing the wrong way, no problem though. Just means a bit of extra cowl cut away. Heres some pics of the near finished model posing at the field. It got a good response even unfinished. The good side. The side yet to be completed. Thats it for now gents, unless the wife annoys me and I go in a building frenzy lol. Untill next time, cheers all.
  8. Cheers Barry, I'm using spectrum fuel proofer. In the can, not the best but affordable. Trouble is I've already done the second coat and forgot about the time your supposed to leave it in-between. Around 3 hours. Hope it will be ok. Not too fussed about the imperfections now as the ones of the time were not perfect, looking closely at pictures you can see alot. Cheers again.
  9. Heres a few pics, as promised. Heres the near finished wing, had one coat of fuel proofer and im debating another. You cant see the new exhaust system but its concealed in the bag on the starboard engine. Ill post some pics when both are done. I plan on doing quite a bit of work in the engine area soon. The respray on the fuz, just the green patch to go over now and I will get the stencilling done, fuel proof the fuz and then a few minor things before flying. Even though its the same paint theres a definate tone difference, im hopeing this will blend in over time it may just take a few days for the pigment to fully dry?. And the rudder where the tail flashes were are ready for new ones. More pics to come over the next few days. Cheers all.
