You would have thought he could have landed at least one on the field!

As everyone is having three choices and I have already made my first choice of a Lavotchkin my second choice would be the same as Steve Hargreaves, a Yak 3. My third choice is scale like high or low wing trainer.

Lavotchkin please, very hard to find these days and would complete the warbird set. Both I/C and electric catered for, without costing a fortune. You did ask!

Sorry to hear your troubles, you must be disappointed. Make sure you're fit before returning to the fray.

Have a great Christmas and an even better new year, may all your days be flyable.

Good to see you back in the workshop after your extended holiday. Tis a smashing job you are doing there Steve, I am a tad envious. Well, quite a lot envious actually.

Not sure if this the right thread and I'm probably the last person in the world to know.
I have just purchased some lithium batteries, as far as I am aware the pro's and cons are as follows :-
The batteries are AA/AAA size.
They are 1.5 volt.
They are advertised as lasting 15 times longer than a conventional battery.
They cost £4 - 39 for a pack of four.
They weigh 65 g per pack of 4, as opposed to 110 g for 4 x NIMH.
They are single use only, not rechargable. I assume they must be disposed of in an appropriate manner.
I have no affiliation with the manufacturer or supplier. I obtained mine from this link but I'm sure there are many others.

OMG Steve, what a brilliant build! Can't wait to see the end result. It's a real pleasure to watch it all unfold.

I have :-
Half completed Warbird Replica P51 (Kit).
Just started the Tim Hooper Speedtwin (Plan and CNC pack).
Warbird Replica Spitfire (Kit).
Tiger Moth (Plan and CNC pack).
Nigel Hawes Tucano (No 3 started last year - wings half done).
WOT 4 (Just a plan at the moment).
Oh, and a Harmon Rocket III almost completed. Brother Nigel did most of the build during a quiet patch.
All electric!
Bound to be something else 'I must have', during the year.
Happy building and flying in the New Year.

The very best of the season to all and hoping you get some excellent building and flying time in the new year.

Here are a couple of sites that provide some Turnigy motor data :-
Go to 'Engines' in the tool section.
This one advertises as providing 'real' data :-
I can't vouch for accuracy but by gathering enough info you can hopefully form a concensus.

I've got a soft spot for my mother-in-law............
.......It's called quicksand!
-
Ordered the CNC kit, just need some 48 hour days to build it ....... sigh!
-
Any news on the CNC pack yet?
-
I would love to see both or either of bounce's and kc's suggestions come to fruition, I would even part with some cash!
-
Max,
The following are a sample of some of the established kits available, some are a bit abitious and some are a little large. At least you get the feel for what's available out there.
As already mentioned the mags do plans and CNC parts, as do ......
Hope this is of some help.

After having problems with getting hold of decent quality wood I started a thread. The response I had was very similar to your own. I therefore stuck with SLEC and have not been dissapointed to date.
Bulk buying is the best way to go if you can finance it.

John, the motors are available (at the time of writing) at electriflite.co.uk and are currently priced at £11-65 each. Just search for D2826-10 and it will go straight to it. Hope this helps.

Sorry about the delay in replying Tim, been away. The pics will be no problem. The only problem is when. A few months agao I was at a loss as to what to build next, I could find very little of interest. Now I have several projects ready to go. It's a bit like busses, none show up and then all of a sudden they all turn up at once.
Next in the pipeline is a 'Warbirds Replica P51', followed by a Tiger Moth and then hopefully your little beauty. That will still leave a few more sitting on the shelves all ready to go including a 'Warbird Replicas Spitfire' and a Tucano. I do like being busy.

It's going to be a free plan then, great! It will definately be on my build list.

I have to agree about the Balsa Cabin, the last balsa order I made was nothing short of superb. You don't worry so much about price if the quality is of a high standard, I was very pleased to say the least.
