david 7 Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 what sutible charger would i need for my electric set , it has 500watt motor and 70amp esc, its about 2.2 pounds, at the moment do not know if to use 3 or 4 cell lipos may be 4500 rating 4 cell, what rating charger would i need in amps if i was to go for 4 cells/3 cells, its a 54inch trainer with a bit over the top power. thanks dave. Richard Wood Posted April 7, 2011 Share Posted April 7, 2011 David, Most of the cheaper chargers are limited to 50W o/p power which is ok for 1C charging of smaller 3 & 4S batteries but you may well soon outgrow it. Why not spend a little more on a higher Wattage one such as this 200W Charger . A 2.2 lb trainer only needs about 220W so a 3S Lipo of around 2500 to 3000mAH or so would be ok.
